Gee's pov

"God I wish these idiots would stop staring at me." I thought as I wove through the rows of desks to get to mine. When I sat down, I reached to open my sketchbook but was stopped by Ms. Folivora. "Would you like to share anything about yourself before we begin class?" she asked.

"Um, no I'll pass."
There's no way I'm gonna let these people get to know who I am. No one needs to know my secrets, at least not this early in the morning.

Time slowly ticked away as the lesson dragged out. I didn't bother listening since it was my first day here and probably wouldn't be too important to mind. I continued on the portrait of my little brother Mikey, adding details in his eyes and trying extremely hard not to mess up his precious little face.

I took a break from detailing to look back on the portrait as a whole. Everything just seemed sort of muddy and I wondered why. Then it hit me... I forgot to add the highlights. As I bent down to grab my art bag, a little something caught my eye. After focusing harder on the image, I saw that it was a doodle of two creatures made of triangles.

"Wow," I thought, "that's actually pretty cool." The artist brushed their hair back, revealing the right side of their face to me.
Lindsey?

I was surprised. I didn't think she was the 'art type' at first glance, but by the looks of it, she is. As an act of kindness, I decided to let her know my opinion on her "Bored Out of My Mind" doodles. I flipped to a blank page in my sketchbook and thought about what I wanted to say. First off, I know for a fact that I didn't want to sound like a dweeb and put something like 'wow that looks so cool!', but I also didn't want to be a complete douche and write 'sweet'. It needed to sound natural coming from me. After much thought on this, I decided on smoothest thing I could think of: 'looks dope'. I know its stupid but its the best I've got right now.

Careful not to draw attention to myself, I tore out the page and folded it as many times as I could. I made sure no one was watching before tossing the note to her. From the corner of my eye I could see her take the note and hide it under her desk. She didn't open it straight away, but when she did, she smirked and started writing something of her own.

The note came back to me, and I couldn't wait to see what she wrote. When I opened the note, the first thing my eye was drawn to was Flowey saying 'howdy'. Once again I was impressed with her talent (even if all I've seen from her so far were doodles). She wrote 'thx' as her way of thanking me for the compliment. I could've left it at that and have us live our lives but something inside me was drawn to her. I could tell she had secrets no one knew about and that there was more to her than what she lets people see. I made the bold move of writing 'we should hang out sometime' but before I could send it to her, the bell rang and she ran off.

I couldn't help but wonder why she was in such a hurry, I mean it was only second period. As I bent down to get my bag, I noticed a ruby red guitar pick under Lindsey's desk. I guess she was in so big of a rush that it fell out of her bag without her knowing. I grabbed the pick, pocketed it, and left.

"You'll probably see her in one of your classes or at lunch." I thought as I dodged the stupid freshman crowding the hall. I've only seen her once and already can't get her out of my head. Oh Gerard... what have you gotten yourself into....
