Warning: nothing except as makeout session at the end

You woke early in the morning per usual sighing as you turned to your side only to be met by a sleeping Charlie. You froze, and you held your breath as you analysed the situation. You thought last night was a dream that your walk in the woods knocked you out. Now to be clear, nothing happened last night. You briefly glanced down and sighed in relief: yep, both parties still had their clothes on. Charles must have fallen asleep not too soon after yourself. He looked so peaceful, his brown hair a mess and his lips almost a pout. You must have been staring, as his eyes slowly opened and he smiled warmly at you, "Morning love."
"Hey" you hummed
You rolled out awkwardly and struggled for words, "well I uh- I should go."
"No love, I have trained with Erik. I'll see you later" Charles responded, not at all awkward it seemed he was the tiniest smug.
___
It had been hours since the awkward morning, you had showered and had sat at the bench staring at the bowel of fruit loops in front of you. You wanted to find Charles. You wanted- no needed to know what it is between you two. You were walking the halls, looking for the boyish-faced professor that when you saw Moira and Charles talking in the corner. Charles was leant calmly against the wall, laughing at something the agent had said. You hadn't meant to feel jealous after all Charles wasn't your boyfriend, but you had hoped last nights kiss meant something. It appeared not as Moira
flirted as she twirled her hair smiling widely. You breathed lightly, of course, you were overreacting Charles could to talk to anyone, could kiss whoever; you didn't care at all, just how Charles didn't.
___
You had been running for ten minutes; you kept a steady pace as you lapped the mansion for the 8th time. You loved running; you could run for ages although you weren't the fastest. You eventually stopped and headed back in for lunch and most likely a nap. You opened the fridge looking for something to drink and poured a glass or orange juice, you sipped it slowly, then Sean walked past, "Hey y/n Hanks asked me to find you he found something to do with your healing powers, he's in his lab" as he was headed out with Charles and Moira. You smiled warmly at Sean while averting the gaze of Charles, "Thank you Sean" you replied.
___
In Hanks lab, you were being filled in about how the young genius research proved that with the right amount of solar energy absorbed you could heal other wounds. You sat opposite Hank, and he held his hand out towards you. To demonstrate his theory Hank had made a small incision in his palm, "Hank I'm not sure- what if It doesn't work" but you saw how much Hank looked confident in his research, so you closed your eyes focusing on the outside sunlight that filled the room and place your hand on his bleeding hand. You felt a surge of warmth tingle your hand like when you feel the smoke from a candle bounce of your finger. Slowly you removed your hand from Hanks and stared in disbelief as his cut had vanished leaving no scar or blood residue. "Extraordinary" he whispered, you laughed which turned into a full laugh of triumph. You could heal others, and you loved that. "It may take some more time to use healing on major casualties, and with more energy being transferred you will tire quickly." Hank smiled you still held his hand examining it, "I never knew I could heal others, thank you Hank" you leant forward to give the great genius a brief hug as you left the room.
___

You were with Charles, Erik, Hank and Sean on top of the satellite. "We believe in you Sean" you cheered as Charles briefed Sean on how to fly. "I trust you three, but I don't trust him" Sean stated.
"I'll be here if there's anything that goes... uh wrong?" You told Sean patting him on the back for support,
"Reassuring" Sean replied sarcastically. You giggled and stood next to Erik who had a mischievous gleam in his eyes,
It happened so suddenly as Erik pushed Sean of, "Erik!" You yelled as rushing forward to the railing, but instead of seeing a squashed Sean you saw a flying Sean. his suit with his wings designed in them reminded of you of that guy from Scooby Doo.
Again you were asked to be present when Hank, Charles and Alex were in the hanger. That seemed all you were doing was running, or being there for all training except your own. Alex had to aim his powers at the middle mannequin, not Charles or Hank which stood either side of the dummy. You stood behind Alex, of course not directly because you weren't a fan of becoming barbecued. The middle mannequin got melted, and you looked up to see the three men smiling. You felt a surge of affection and pride for your new friend as he finally mastered his power. You hugged Alex as he realised he was getting control over his mutation, "way to go Alex" you replied smiling ear to ear.
___
Raven was curled up in a fetal position on her bed, "Raven what happened" walking forward you asked as you sat next to the weeping girl. "Hank finished the serum."
"Oh" one-word reply, you knew what this meant to Raven and presumed she'd be happy which was not the case. You put two and two together and voila had a faint idea of why. "Raven you don't need to change your natural form, you're beautiful, and I think you understand the most of why Hank said all those things, Raven. He's scared."
"I've been scared my whole life always hiding because what if someone saw me" Raven sobbed into your shoulder, "I'm not beautiful I'm blue, and society will never accept me."
"Maybe not right now but they will in time perhaps mutants and humans can work together. You have a family that loves you, we all do we love you as Raven and you in your natural form." Raven smiled and wiped her tears away
Holding out your hand for the young blonde you motioned for her to follow, "let's go to the others, the announcement should be on" Raven took your hand, and together you made your way downstairs.
___
The whole group stood around the tv, you felt a little downhearted when Charles chose to sit next to Moira over the space next to you,  you felt much happier with Alex next to you now. You were leaning on Alex and buried your head into his shoulder and sighed in frustration as the news declared that if the Russians crossed the line, the would have declared nuclear war against the United States of America. You stayed behind with Alex as the news fully sunk in. Summers calmed you down reminding you that it'll be alright, "I'm fine it's just I couldn't hear thinking about losing any of you especially you Alex you're like my brother." You sobbed gently into Alex's shoulder. It's all happening too fast.
"It'll be okay y/n you have us a family to look out for each other" as tough as Alex appeared he was a big softie and even though it took a lot of silent conversations you were able to connect with him and you were one of the lucky few who was close friends with him.
___
You lay in bed; eyes closed trying to doze off: you were so worried, and again your head started throbbing. You ignored it. Until you couldn't anymore. Walking the hallway again to the kitchen, you saw a light under a door which you presumed was Charles room. You turned to leave, but a quiet sob interrupted that. You didn't notice you were holding your breath as you opened the door. Charles was asleep except was thrashing around in his sleep muttering about voices, mutants. You were surprised to hear your name along with Ravens and Eriks. It was sad, a pleading voice as if he was watching us die. You padded over to his bedside and attempted to wake him up. You noticed a tear fall lightly from his eye; you shook him slightly, "Charles" you whispered you took a step back in shock as his blue eyes opened suddenly and stared at you almost like you weren't there. "I just walked past, and I saw your light on, and I heard you were crying, or something and I-" Charles interrupted you as he gripped your hand tightly, "nightmare" he spoke his voice coarse. You had the urge to kiss him and hold him close, but you didn't you sat next to him on the bed, "did you want to talk about it?" You asked, Charles, shook his head in reply. He looked tired; his eyes shone a brighter blue, fresh with tears: he looked sad and frightened.
___
Charles sat forward still holding your hand, he took your other hand and pulled you close. "I thought - I saw you die" he trembled. You felt the need to hold him close and remind him everything's fine and it was just a dream,
"Oh Charlie its okay, I'm okay. I'm right here" you referred back to the childlike nickname you had for him.
Charles smiled he was deep in thought, still rattled from what he had just dreamt. You could feel his body trembling softly, "I can't lose you it's just you mean so much to me, your funny, beautiful and everything" Charles rambled you always thought you were the rambler.
You gulped, "Charles you don't mean that"
Charles frowned looking at you, "I do, I do mean it, love. There's something about you, from the first moment I meet you in that alleyway I never forgot you." Charles reached for your face, and you leant your cheek into his hand.
" Charles I don't know what to say. After the kiss you were distant. I wanted to talk about it, but you were always with Hank, or... Moira. " you stammered carefully thinking of each word to reply with.
"I'm sorry I didn't want it to seem like I was pressuring you cause we only meet recently even though it feels as if I know you my whole life. I feel as if. I don't deserve you." He paused, tracing your cheek softly, "Y/n nothing is going on between Moira and myself."
You felt a tear form,  and Charles wiped it away with his thumb. You have no idea what came over you, but you cupped his face and pulled him in. His lips attached to your own, his arms snaked around your waist holding you close, resting on the small of your back.  You turned, so you were facing him, his blue eyes locked with your own. "What does this mean to you" you managed to say.
"It means the world to me love, and it would mean so much more if you would do me the honour of being mine" Charles spoke his voice filled with emotion.
___
Before you knew it, you had cupped his face in your hands and kissed him passionately. As if every kiss was to catch up on all that time lost since you very first meeting, he responded strongly and wrapped his arms around you smiling into the kiss. You wanted him closer to you, not wanting to let go. Every kiss sent shivers down your spine: Charles pulled you onto him, so you were straddling him. his hand holding your face gently and you nibbled his lower lip, you moaned quietly as he left a trail of kisses up your collarbone to your neck right back to your lips. Every kiss before this seemed wrong, and it felt so right kissing him it was as if every inch of your body dissolved into his, your senses on overload. It felt like you two were connected and it wouldn't surprise you if he did, read your mind. Charles pulled away with heavy breathing, and you leant your forehead on his and stared into his eyes, no doubt a crimson blush stained your cheeks. He stared deeply, staring straight into your eyes with love, asking to continue: you found yourself nodding. You gripped his hair gently pulling him on top of you back on the bed, kissing as if your lives depended on it and maybe they did maybe for all you knew.  Let's say you forgot completely about your worries for tomorrow.
