"An ending, then a beginning"
Under the covers of my bed
Underneath my body doesn't fit me
Hide behind these shades
Dismayed at the false reflection on the glass
An "hourglass" body shape
Counting the particles that flee from my facade
Time is running out
Seconds to minutes
Minutes to hours
Ashes to ashes
To you
I am a riddle
A complex anomaly
Years of silence
Afraid to follow the path of Dwayne Jones
I am a tangle of words
Laced around your tongue
Spoken but misinterpreted
Retreat quickly
Don't look back
I'll take my leave from here
Just to make room for him
A broken damaged room
Bearing a lady curled up; mourning
A boy saying goodbye
But leaves the room with no regrets
To you
I am Emily
Endearing, dearest, starlet, starlit
The ghost of the girl you wanted me to be
But to me
I am Montgomery
Untouched by loosely strewn together adjectives
Defining me as a ghost, a mourner in a dark room.
