~Kaede POV~
My eyes fluttered open being greeted by a blinding white ceiling.
"So bright." I quietly croaked lighting my arm over my eyes.
"Kaede." I heard someone call out my name. I looked over seeing Takashi. His eyes were as if he's been crying. He quickly leaned over holding my hand and smiling.
"Hey weirdo." I tried to chuckle but it came wheezy. Takashi's eyes filled with sadness.
"I'm gonna get the doctor. I'll be right back " Takashi got up his hand slowly letting go of mine as he walked out of the room. A minute later the doctor walked in. Takashi and an officer following behind him.
"Hello Kaede, how are you feeling, 1-10." The doctor smiled at me.
"4." I croaked.
"That's good. You're healing faster then you should be. You could be out of the hospital in a few day." The doctor explained. "This officers is here to ask you some questions on how you got all your injuries." Then the doctor walked out. Takashi walked up beside me as the officer looked at me.
"This conversation will,be recorded, is that okay with you?" The officer said as a he started a record app on his phone.
"Yes. Where are my brothers?" I looked at the officer.
"With your parents." He answered.
"No! Get them away from them!" I demanded.
"Why?" The officer looked surprised.
"Because my parents are monsters. You need to get my brothers away from them."
"What do you mean they're monsters?"
"They did this to me because they got a phone call from the school. They beat me. My father lifted me off the ground my the throat and the dragged me up to the attic and locked me up there for days, without food and water. They would only go up there to beat me. Other than that they would forget about me." I said as tears streamed down my face.
"The first time I met Kaede, he had bruises and cuts all over his arms and body." Takashi added.
"Your brothers told me your parents beat you if you don't do things to their liking, is that true?"
"Yes, and if they told you that, then why are they with those monsters?!"
"Because there are no signs of abuse." The officer explained.
"I don't care!" My voice cracked. "Th-they did this to me, and you're allowing my brothers to stay with them!" I felt tears stream down my face.
"No, from what it looks like, you and your brothers will be living with your aunt. And your parents will be going to jail for child abuse." The police man gave me a weak smile. "That means they can be in jail up to 15 years for what they did to you." Takashi wrapped his arms around me smiling. The policeman walked out of the room.
"I'm so happy for you." Takashi's voice filled with happiness.
"I'm finally free." I smiled as more tears streamed down my face.
"Why are you crying silly?" Takashi wiped my tears away with his thumbs as he held my face in his palms of his hands.
"I'm just so happy." I cried even more.
"Brother! What's wrong?!" I heard Jun's voice. Takashi and I both looked at the door seeing both my brothers.
"Hide! Jun!" I cried. They ran up to me jumping up on my bed and hugged me. "I'm so glad you're safe!"
