Chapter 12: Date

Today was the day you'd be meeting Kai at the coffee shop by the university.

For a date.

That day, there was a happy atmosphere in the apartment, it was sunny outside, it's as if the world cheered up for this.

And yet you couldn't stop thinking about Jungkook.

He shouldn't matter much, since you were going on an date with someone else. But Jungkook was extremely close to you, even if you hadn't known him for very long. And you and him had little disagreements over everything, but the both of you always reached some type of compromise, no matter how outlandish the outcome was, the problem was always fixed.

But now, the problem seemed impossible to overcome, and it wouldn't stop eating you from the inside out.

You still got ready, and wore this.

"You look beautiful." Namjoon said to you, giving you a wide smile.

"It's not too much? I'm not sure about the heels, maybe I should take them off."

"No, it's great honey." Jiyeon looked you up and down. "He'll definitely want to hit it."

You laughed. "You're disgusting." Then walked out the door, still thinking about Jungkook.

You eventually reached the coffee shop, which was in walking distance.

"Hey."

"Hey."

~~FAST FORWARD~~

You got back with a few coffee cakes, a promise you made Danielle and Sojung. They immediately took the bag from your hand and made you sit on the couch.

"He was so nice, and wouldn't stop complimenting me and I just couldn't stop smiling." Was how you described him when they asked.

Yoongi came with Taehyung and asked about the date. Sojung and Danielle continued to ask questions and you obediently answered them.

But Jungkook walked out of his room, into the kitchen, where you where and got what he needed. You looked at him and accidentally made eye contact, staying there for just a moment.

Then you both walked back into your rooms.

"He seems sadder each day."

"And she's so worried about him, what even happened?"

"I think it's something about that date she went on."

You sat on your bed and thought about it, you wanted to get to the bottom of this, but you weren't very sure if it was the right time yet.

So you decided to wait, and you weren't very sure for how long.

~~TIME SKIPS TO LIKE TWO WEEKS LATER~~

You haven't talked to him for about a month and you got tired of waiting for the right time, so you were gonna do it tonight.

Usually, you'd wait for him on the couch, he'd come back and you'd look at each other for a minute, just to take it in and go into your separate rooms.

And that's how it went everyday for a few weeks.

But now, you planned to make it different.

He wasn't gonna be mad anymore. And you guys would talk again, and everyone would be happy.

"I don't want this stupid silent treatment anymore." You told him, he stopped in his tracks, his hand sliding off the door knob. He didn't reply, but he turned, implying that you had his attention.

"Jungkook, I just want to talk to you again. That's it. It could be about the stupidest and most irrelevant things, but I want at least a word coming out from you."

He still stared at you, and for the first time, you saw a glint of pain in his eyes.

"Jungkook, please." You came closer to him. "Talk to me." You whispered.

"I just want to talk to him at least once." He looked down at you with a serious expression on his face. "Ok?"

"Yeah, you got it." Immediately, you took your phone from your pocket.

Hey Kai
We've only had a few dates but I have someone who wants to meet you, so is it fine if I bring a plus one tomorrow?

Sure, no problem

"Tomorrow, 3 o'clock, we're going to the amusement park."

He nodded and you walked off. Opening the door to your room, Danielle and Bella fell forward on the floor. In the background, you heard Jungkook laugh a little, hearing him laugh again made you a bit happier.

"What is this?" You asked them. And immediately, Danielle answered. "We got bored one night and decided we would make a group chat about you and Jungkook beefing. So now we have shifts listening to what happens between you two each night and report back to the chat."

"What the..."

"It was fun while it lasted."

Then, each door that led to a bedroom opened and out stepped the residents of the huge apartment. "Who's the idiot that told on us?" Yeona asked everyone, Bella pointed to Danielle.

"She asked."

"That doesn't mean you just out them." Jungkook said from behind you, which made you turn around and reply. "You aren't even in on it."

"That doesn't mean I don't know a thing or two about knowing what to say." He winked at you, this made you happier, it was an indication that he was back.

His flirty, caring, nice characteristics were back and hopefully staying.
