Third person's pov:
Confusion reigned the place as everyone stayed as if glued to their spots. Shawn was shocked to say the least. The vampire hunter? His mate's mother was a vampire hunter? How cliché could that be? He just stared at his mate and could only run his hand down the latter's back gently as Adam was thrown in a turmoil.
His emotions fluctuated violently from shock to happiness to confusion.
"I-i thought you were ..." He finally broke the dreadful silence that made even the poor Tyler clench Damien's shirt unconsciously.
"Dead?" His mother finished for him. A slight amusement present in her voice as she swung her gun like one of those arrogant gangsters in movies.
"Me your mom? Haha,don't make me laugh."
Adam's stomach flipped. This woman in front of him...was it truly his mother?
The mother he had in his memory was sweet and loving,not some badass bitch swinging a gun around,wearing black masks. What in the world was going on in here.
"W-What do you mean? Then who are you...?" Adam took a step forward,his mate watching him intently, never letting him out of sight for a nanosecond.
" We always knew you fucking whore were the little bitch of the vampire leader. How could we let you go? I had decided to kill you the day you were born and smiling in my sister's lap. You separated me from my one and only sister. She ran away from us,betrayed us,her only family. Good thing your dumpster dad gave up on her. Haha,now I can finally kill you today and make you atone for all your sins."
These words made Shawn growl. His hands clutching his mate from behind. A strong bloodlust engulfed him as he glared at the woman who had just insulted his mate and also threatened him. Adam was not sure how to react.
"How?" Was all he could mutter as tears streamed down his cheeks. A heart wrenching sob threatening to come out as he bit his lips.
"Oh she was my twin sister. The bitch. How could she betray me for you? Now you will all pay." The woman shouted.
"You are in the vampire city. I wouldn't dare open my mouth and spit out more bullshit if I was you." Nian said cold bloodedly. He had left his mother's side and was currently in front of Nathaniel. Mate instincts. The want to protect what's yours and only yours.
