With still not being allowed to access my house through the front door, Charlie and I went around the back.

I led him up to my room and immediately towards my closet. I bent down picking up the watch and handed it to Charlie. "The day of the funeral I came to get my dress and I saw it laying on the ground. I know it's not mine or my mom's and I know it isn't yours either." I didn't have to say anymore as we looked at each other with the same idea.

We ran as fast as we could into the police station, as if our lives depended on it. The secretary at the desk looked at us like we had two heads as we ran towards her. Before she could say anything, we were shouting at her. "Where's officer Scott? Is he here right now? We need to see him." The lady's eyes widened as she looked from Charlie to me. "Let me go check." The secretary got up and left for the other room while Charlie and I paced.

The lady came back with officer Scott, for what seemed as though it took an eternity. He motioned to us to follow him and so we did. When we got into his office, it didn't even take one second for us to start rambling on and on about the watch and what it could mean towards the case. After throughly explaining the situation to him, Scott laughed causing us to look at him confused. "Wow, that was a mouthful. Um, first of all, let me bring this to my friend. He is the one who is in charge of analyzing any fingerprints and residue that might match to a person. Second of all, did you guys run all the way here from your house? You seem very out of breath." His comment causes a laugh to erupt from both of us as he makes his way out of the room to deliver the watch.

Charlie turned to me, a small frown apparent on his face. "I hope they find something. I hope that watch gets us somewhere. If not, I don't know what we're gonna do." I put my hand on his comfortingly as I spoke. "We're gonna find out ourselves if they can't. We are going to find out who killed Alyssa." I nodded my head as I spoke as if I was trying to convince not only Charlie, but myself.

"Thank you AJ." Charlie leaned towards my head and softly kissed it. Butterflies erupted in my stomach and it was hard to contain my emotions as I forced myself to sit still.

Officer Scott came in seconds later with a huge grin on his face. "So are you guys together yet or..." Charlie removed his hand from my grasp and glared at the officer who only laughed at him. I didn't know what to do as I was still in a slight daze from the sudden kiss. Even if it hadn't been on the lips, it still felt powerful in a way I couldn't describe. I could only imagine what kissing him on the lips would feel like but that dream was over. After that night at the football game, we never even got close to almost kissing again.

With the analysis of the watch taking a few days, Charlie and I went back to his house for the night.

The weekends were probably my favorite part of the week. It meant I could enjoy my life without worrying that someone from school would bother me.

As it was now only two weeks away from Christmas as well as my birthday, I was able to let that distract my mind from the haunting thoughts of Alyssa.

It was Saturday morning and the sun began to peak through the window going straight for my eyes. Why did light hate me so much? I groaned and tried to turn in the other direction, only to fall off the bed. "Ow." It was the same thing every morning.

I huffed out a breath of air only to feel air blowing on the back of my neck. I turned my head up towards the top of the bed only to see Charlie leaning over the bed, looking down at me with a small smile on his face. "Must you always have problems waking up in the morning?" I glared in his direction while he laughed, offering his hand to help me up. I took it gladly, hoping my legs hadn't fallen asleep like they normally do.

I let out a breath of relief as I was able to stand, knowing my legs hadn't given out. This was going to be a good day already.

I had planned on getting up early anyways as I wanted to get some of my last minute Christmas shopping done, but normally early for me was two in the afternoon.

I stood next to the bed with my hands on my hips as I watched Charlie take the pillow and cover his face. "Oh no you don't. If I got up, you're getting up too." Charlie turned over and moved to the other side of the bed, thinking he could avoid me. I shook my head as I made my way over to him. "Get up!" Charlie groaned and tried to speak, only for the pillow to muffle what he had said. "No!" I scrunched my nose in frustration and grabbed his arm. If he wasn't going to get up by himself, I was going to do it.

I began to try and pull him off the bed but I came to realize that being that he was a lot stronger than me and a lot bigger than me over all, it was gonna be a real workout getting him up.

I pulled his arm countless times only to realize he had been holding the headboard for support. What was this? Freaky Friday? I decided I would pull his arm one last time and if that didn't work, I was going to get a bucket of cold water.

I guess I must have been thinking out loud because as soon as I pulled his arm, he let go of the headboard, causing me to fall backwards to the ground with Charlie not far behind.

After hitting my back on the carpeted floor, I didn't have time to react as Charlie landed on top of me. Of course even when falling, he had to do it in style because as he landed, he put his arms out to his sides just enough so he would land in push up position, ultimately trapping me beneath him.

I looked to see his face just inches from mine, a smug smirk plastered on Charlie's face. "Morning AJ." I stuck my tongue out at him only for his smirk to deepen, if that was even possible. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. Seeing as you're trapped, it's gonna take some convincing for me to let you go." It took every bone in my body not to glare at him.

"What do you want then?" I tried to sound like I had a little bit of an attitude to cover what I was really feeling inside. Charlie had leaned closer, the distance between us almost non-existent. I could feel the warmth of his breath as he spoke. When he spoke however, I lost the tough girl attitude I tried to take on and became completely vulnerable as I looked from his eyes to his lips. "I want you to kiss me."
