Heya, thanks for reading this! It means so much to me! Also, I'm probably gonna start putting in words who's POV (Point of View) certain parts are, because it's been getting really confusing for even me. XD That's it! - Joey

Moon's POV

A scavenger ran underneath her, squeaking in fear, annoyance, anger, or all of them.

Flow charged past shortly after, shouting angry curses and throwing various fruits at the small creature as it darted out of the way of the projectiles.

"EAT YOU DARNED CREATURES!" Flow yelled, snapping his wings open and leaping at the scavenger again, a large melon in hand (or... talon?) "YOU WILL EAT THIS YOU UNGRATEFUL EXCUSE FOR A SCAVENGER!"

Winter stood nearby, his wings rested on either side of him, his left wingtip barely brushing against Moon's own wings. She shivered slightly as Winter stood up, the chill of his wing left her, and he sighed, small ice particles drifted out of his snout.

"Winter," Moon said in a gentle voice. "Talk to me,"

The IceWing looked down, checking that he was indeed, wearing skyfire. He let out an annoyed snort.

"I don't need to read your mind to tell that you're upset," she said, moving closer to him and laying her tail on top of his. He seemed to tense up upon her action. Then, slowly relaxed, muttering to himself.

Moon looked over, checking on Flow, he was sitting in front of a small cave, not big enough for a dragon to enter, but big enough for the frightened creatures that escaped him. He sat there, muttering like an assassin, which probably didn't help his chances of feeding the poor beings.

"I was wondering if I should go back to Jade Mountain," Winter muttered, looking down. No matter how hard Moon tried. She couldn't get him to meet her eyes.

What is going on inside his head? For once she missed reading Winter's mind, although it was all mirrors. One thought repeating and changing itself, then others, bouncing off one another, clashing, stopping, starting, never seeming to leave the ex-prince's mind clear.

"It's up to you," Moon said, looking at Flow, who was attempting to stick his head into the small opening of the cave, his tail lashing.

Winter locked eyes with her, then, looked away as soon as he could bring himself to tear his icy blue eyes away from her own gentle green orbs.

"I would like it if you came back," Moon whispered in his ear. "It's tiring traveling from Jade Mountain all the way out here you know, I bet the rest of the winglet is worried sick about me. I think they'd be happy to see you."

Moon could see the flash of hope that beamed in his eyes at the thought of seeing his old friends again, but that quickly darkened when he looked back at her. His face dropped back to the same neutral mask it had always held.

Moon racked her brain for something to say... something... anything that could convince him to come back.

"I bet Qibli would be happy to see you," Moon said, her voice a little shaky, but filled with DETERMINATION.

Winter snorted. Apparently that was one of the last things he wanted to hear.

"If I go back," he started, hesitating. He drew his eyes away from the (Very interesting) pebbles at his talons and looked at Moon, square in the eye. His unblinking gaze stayed on her for several seconds, then, he blinked. Braking the trance. "If I go back, it won't be to see Qibli," he finished.

"Ok.... so you'll come back?" Moon asked hopefully.

"Only for you," Winter mumbled, hoping she hadn't heard him. She internally giggled but ignored it. Knowing that the cold IceWing would probably die of embarrassment right then and there if she had said something.

"Well," Moon tilted her snout upward, checking the sun's position in the sky. She sighed, it was almost noon. "I think we better start flying," she said, spreading her wings and lifting off. Hovering above Winter as he hesitated.

"Flow I'm going.... away... for a few months," Winter called over to the SeaWing, who'd given up chasing the scavengers and was lounging on a rock, sunbathing. His tail dipped in the water.

"Ok," he said lazily, not really listening. His thoughts were like waves, now, they were very shallow. His thoughts gently hitting him, but then recoiling.

Winter was now hovering next to Moon, looking around the town sadly.

"You won't be away forever," Moon reminded him, smiling sweetly.

He slightly smiled back, which made her heart skip a beat.

"Let's go," Winter muttered, flying in a large arc and beating his wings as hard as he could, back in the direction of Jade Mountain. Not knowing that a certain SandWing would be waiting for Moon. He had been ever since she left. Checking the sky every day, eagerly waiting for her to return.
