Frozen Truth

Chapter 7

Qibli's POV

Qibli could still see Winter's slouched  form when he walked away from detention and went to go find Moon.

This was perfect! He could talk to Moon without Winter! Maybe I can tell her....
He thought, navigating through the twisting tunnels in Jade Mountain.

Well, at least before I leave to go back to Thorn. He smiled and gasped when a new idea popped into his head. I could bring Moon with me! She's love it in Thorn's palace!!

He silently walked into Moon's cave, his tail lashing happily.

Moon was sound asleep, curled up in a little ball on her bed made of soft leaves. Qibli's heart jumped when he saw her sleeping peacefully.

"Hey Moon..." Qibli started toward her, reaching out and running a talon over her soft smooth scales. "Wake up."

"Hmm...?" She turned toward him, slowly opening her eyes. "Wi- Qibli... is that you?" She asked, her time groggy.

"Yeah, it's me. Qibli," he replied  anger bubbles inside his chest at first. But he quickly calmed himself down.

She looked around him, then, seeming fully awake. She bolted up and darted around the room.

"Where's Winter?!" She asked, looking at Qibli with frightened eyes.

He growled a little.  Great.

Moon's POV

Oh no oh no oh no..... what happened to Winter?! Did Qibli do something to him? Moon paced, her tail lashing.

"Don't worry," Qibli said, soothingly. "I'm here, don't worry." He reached out and pulled her into a hug.

She winced a little bit didn't pull away. She felt like she needed this comfort. His warm scales filled her with hope, making her relax.

Once her worries disappeared, she let go of him.

"Thanks Qibli," She said, smiling a little at him.

A light pink blossomed on his cheeks as he laughed nervously.

"No problem..." he said, sitting down in front of her.

Moon sat down too. Her tail curled around her.

"I have to tell you something..." Qibli said, scratching the back of his neck and looking away.

"What is it?" Moon asked, tilting her head. It was weird that she couldn't read his mind and tell what he was going to say.... but... then again, she didn't really want to invade his privacy.

Which was the reason she told Turtle to give him skyfire.

"I- I Umm..." he trailed off, the pink turning more into a dark red. "I love you!" He blurted out, hiding his face in his wings.

"Oh..." Moon said, looking away. "I-"

But before she could say anything, she felt a snout against hers.

Qibli... was.... kissing her.....

She pulled away.

"I'm sorry Qibli...." she said, backing up more and looking downward. "I don't like you like that..." then she bounded out of the cave, trying to get as far away from the SandWing as possible.

Winter's POV

Finally, detention is over. Winter though, walking out of the cave.

He rounded a corner and bumped into someone.... someone with ebony black scales...

"Moon?" He asked in surprise. "What are you doing all the way down here?" He asked, confused. Moon never came down here.

"I'm just trying to get away from Qibli..." moon whispered, moving behind Winter.

"What why?" He asked, still confused. What did he do to her?!

Anger rose in his chest. Getting to the point where he felt like Qibli would die today.

"He-" Moon stopped, as if she were insure that she wanted to tell him.

"He what?" Winter asked, it came out as a growl, even though he didn't mean it like that.

"He kissed me..." Moon muttered quietly. "I- I told him that I didn't like him like that, but now he's trying to get me to tell him who I like...." she sounded close to tears.

"Hey!" A voice yelled. Winter could nearly process what happened, before a blur of yellow knocked him over. "Stop! Moon is mine!"

"No..." Winter choked out. "She loves someone else..." his words faded out as a barbed tail, slashed down and stabbed his arm.

He heard Moon cry out, then everything went black.
