Jack J's POV:

What just happened? After I got to my house, I saw something happen between Charlotte and Jack. It seems really stupid of me to think anything of it, but if it's Jack's business, then it's my business, too. I honestly thought that they were going to kiss. I know I may be overreacting, but it was weird. I've never seen Jack look at a girl like that before.

They didn't kiss, though. After a minute or two of staring at eachother, Charlotte finally went inside her house. After Jack started walking away, I could tell he was thinking about her. Ever since Jack met Charlotte, I've had this feeling that he was going to become attracted to her. He kept saying that he wouldn't, but I don't know if I can believe that. I know that he doesn't want to fall for her, but who knows?

I'm getting very anxious about this. What if they actually do get in a relationship? What will happen then?
Honestly, I don't know that I want Jack and Charlotte to date. Don't get me wrong, I think they'd make a cute couple, but what if something goes wrong? Charlotte and I are like brother and sister, and I don't want her go get a broken heart. Jack may be my best friend, but he could very easily screw this up. I trust him, but he has never been in a steady relationship before. He has had more girlfriends than either of us can count. I just don't want Charlotte to be another one of those girls. I won't let her get hurt by him.

This is driving me crazy. I just can't stop thinking about what's going to happen. When it comes to Jack, I can't stay out of his business. Hey, that's what best friends do. I eventually decide to call him. After a few rings, he picks up.

"Hey, what's up dude?" I can tell that he's trying to hide something by his voice.

"Hey, can you come over? We need to talk."

"Is everything ok?"

"Yeah, we just need to talk." Right after I say this, he hangs up. It's not more than 30 seconds before he walks through my front door. After all, he does live right next door.

Before he can even comprehend what exactly is happening, I get started. "What's going on with you and Charlotte?" He doesn't answer, he just stares at me with his mouth open, obviously trying to look for what to say. I can tell that I caught him off guard by my question. I wait a few seconds before asking again. "Dude, I'm not stupid. I know something just happened between you and Charlotte, and I know it's bugging you."

After another minute, Jack finally answers. "I don't know." He says in a defeated tone. He's just as confused and concerned as I am. Eventually, I figure that he won't say anymore, so I walk into my living room and sit on my couch. Jack follows me in and sits on the chair across from me. I look at him expectantly, waiting for him to say something. He eventually gets the hint.

"All I know is that, when I walked her to her front door, we just had some sort of moment."

"Did you feel anything?"

"Sort of. Honestly, I just stared at Charlotte and I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she really is. She isn't the typical type of beautiful like every other girl. She's more unique." He takes a long pause as I try to comprehend everything. "I don't think that I have feelings for her. I mean, we're really good friends, and I don't want to change that. After all, it was just one moment. It's not like I'm head over heels in love with this girl."

I understand what Jack's saying. He's not going to fall for a girl just because something like that happened. I'm happy about that. That's usually the kind of thing that Jack does with girls. He really is different around Charlotte. "So are you just going to ignore it?" I ask.

"Probably. I mean, it's clear that we both just want to be friends. I don't see why I should make a big deal out of it." He is a lot more calm than he was when he first got here. Jack always feels better when he talks about what's going on, but he refuses to admit it. We sat in silence for a minute, until Jack broke it. "I honestly didn't think you saw us."

"Dude, I live two houses away from her. It's not that hard to see her front porch from here. And besides, you guys weren't exactly in the most private spot." I say laughing a little.

Jack stays at my house for a few hours. We hang out in my basement most of the time and play Xbox. I'm really happy that I decided to talk to Jack about that. I think we both needed it. Actually, I'm pretty sure that this is one of the only times that his mind wasn't focused on Charlotte. It's good that he finally stopped stressing about it.

Jack G's POV:

Wow. I guess Jack was right. I really do feel better when I talk about what's bothering me. I'm glad he called me over to his house to talk about Charlotte and me. I finally stopped getting all worked up over it.

After I left Jack's house, I went straight home and up to my room. I was really tired and it was getting late too. I brushed my teeth and got into some pajamas. I laid in bed and went on Instagram and Twitter. I was just looking through my feed on Twitter, when I noticed something. I saw a Tweet from Tony Fuller.

Tony and I have hated eachother for as long as I can remember. I swear, his main goal in life is to make me miserable. He always tries to steal my girlfriends from me and he really is just an asshole. He has no respect for girls and I just don't understand how he even has friends. I usually try my best to ignore him, but what his tweet said bothered me.

"Wow. Why are new girls always so hot?"

I knew that he was talking about Charlotte, and I couldn't help but get mad. He knows that me and Charlotte are just friends, so he isn't trying to take her from me. He must really think that Charlotte is hot. I hated the thought of this. I may be a bit of a player, but Tony is the biggest ass when it comes to girls. He always dumps them for no reason. He even did it to Mahogany. Actually, he usually uses the pretty girls just for sex. I wasn't going to let him get anywhere near Charlotte.

I had a hard time sleeping that night. I couldn't stop thinking about what Tony might do. I know that none of the guys would ever let him get close to Charlotte, but knowing him, he would find a way. As far as I know, Charlotte doesn't have any classes with him and probably doesn't even know he exists. I intend to keep it that way. It takes a while, but I eventually drift off to sleep. Right as my eyes close, I make a new goal for the year.

Keep Tony the hell away from Charlotte.
