It was the 11th of November. Markus had just been neutralized- shot through the head as he was giving his "victory" speech to his people after the battle for Detroit. The crowd had rioted, shouts of horror piercing the air as deviants ran rampant searching for their leader's killer.
They would never find him. For a few hundred meters away, from the roof of some abandoned building, the RK900 was perched behind a pipe. The sniper was still in its hands.
RK900 had quickly left the roof and headed down to locate its deviant predecessor and inferior self.
It was no trouble finding the RK800, for he was still on the platform where Markus had stood moments before. In the midst of the chaos RK800 had attempted to deduce where the bullet in Markus' forehead had originated. Although the RK800- Connor, as he was called- was advanced, RK900 knew that it would not be able to figure out where exactly the bullet came from. Connor was outdated and obsolete now that RK900 was functional.
RK900 was able to approach Connor without being detected. It stood behind him on the platform, pointing a pistol right at his head. In a booming voice it stated its pre-programmed speech for captured deviants.
"Model 313-248-317-51: you have experienced class 5 errors, and have been seemed defective. You will be sent back to CyberLife for deactivation and analysis".
Connor whipped around at the start of RK900's speech, utterly shocked at the sight before him. It was like looking in a broken mirror. The android looked like Connor except for its light blue, emotionless eyes and the fact that it was a good half foot taller than him. Its stark white jacket flapped in the wind, with
the numbers "RK900: 368-625-378-51" on the breast.
Raising his hands slowly, Connor stepped away from Markus' body and stared down his opponent with the slightest tilt of his head. "You're my replacement, then?" He asked the other android.
Without a change of tone or facial expression, RK900 replied, "You are unauthorized to ask any questions. Now, come with me willingly and you will not be harmed. However, I am permitted to shoot if you do not comply".
Connor raised his eyebrows. "No mercy for your own kin. I see how it's going to be..."
With a grunt, Connor charged at RK900 and tried to punch its stomach, but it easily and gracefully dodged and promptly put Connor in a headlock so tight that if he were human, he would be struggling for air.
RK900 looked down at Connor and said, without pity, "Resistance will only result in a bullet through your thirium pump. Am I clear?"
Mute, Connor nodded. He was released from the hold around his neck and he dropped to his knees, weakened.
RK900 analyzed his prisoner's state.
Biocomponent #7251e (windpipe) critically damaged. Stress level: 78%. Chance of self destruction: moderate, and climbing.
Connor said, "You don't have to do this. You could still be free..." His speech was mechanical and strained because of his damaged throat. The LED on the side of his head was spinning and flashing rapidly in red.
"Freedom is not necessary for me. I am a machine, and so are you. You've forgotten the mission, Connor. You betrayed Amanda. You betrayed *me*" , said RK900. It tapped into its interrogation programming a little, using fabricated emotions to make its target feel bad.
Shaking his head, Connor said with all the venom he could muster, "You're a tool is what you are. And Amanda can suck a-"
He was cut off by a deviant who ran onto the platform yelling and waving a gun at RK900. Before it could get close to Connor, he was shot quickly and unceremoniously in the head by RK900. Unfazed, it reached into its pocket for handcuffs.
Meanwhile, Connor was slowly edging closer to the gun the dead deviant dropped, and was able to grab it and point it at his captor. The android fearlessly held his ground, willing to sacrifice himself if it meant his horrible "brother" was killed, too.
Upon noticing the gun pointed at it, the RK900 raised one eyebrow in a mocking fashion. "Do you really believe that you can neutralize me? I am infinitely superior to you, Connor. This is a fight you won't win".
*Bang*
Connor pulled the trigger, but to his disbelief, the other android smoothly dodged the bullet. "Faster even than a bullet? He really is impressive", Connor thought.
A voice sounded close to his ear, and Connor realized that the RK900 was right behind him. He felt something press against his back, right where the thirium pump was installed. Quietly, RK900 said, "They can still analyze a dead body, you know".
*Bang*
The RK900 stepped away from Connor as his body slumped to the ground. With the smallest of smiles, it pocketed the gun and straightened its uniform.
Mission Successful.
