Elijah Kamski was a man of many qualities. He was smart, funny, inventive, handsome, and most of all, generous. At least, that's what he liked to tell himself every morning when he looked in the mirror. One thing was for certain- he planned to showcase that generosity today for an old friend of his.

In the taxi, seated next to him, was something he was very proud of, something that he knew his friend was going to love. Eventually. He had worked many hours designing, testing, and programming the android that was beside him. It was a prototype, the only one of its kind. The RK200. No other androids currently existed that were a part of the RK series.

The taxi rolled to a stop in front of a gorgeous mansion on Lafayette Avenue. Waving for the android to follow, Kamski exited the vehicle and straightened his clothes. He walked up the long driveway to the front doors, which opened automatically upon his appearance. An automated security system's voice said, "Welcome, Elijah Kamski". Kamski swiftly walked into the house's grand living room, looking around for Carl.

Carl Manfred was a famous painter and a long time friend of Kamski's. A couple months ago, Carl lost the use of his legs in a horrible accident, and had since fallen into a state of depression. He had even dropped out of painting, which was how Kamski knew he wasn't doing well at all. Worried for his friend, Kamski had decided to create an android that could improve Carl's mobility, look after his health, and be good company for the lonely painter. If all went well with the RK200, maybe CyberLife's next line of products could be a line of caretaker models.

"Carl? It's your favorite millionaire here", Kamski called out. A grunt was heard from one of the room's couches and Carl's head poked up into view. The television was on, displaying one of the city's many local news channels.

"Oh, Eli!" Carl said, using Kamski's nickname. "Sorry... I didn't hear you come in. Come, sit! I wasn't expecting a visit".

Kamski smiled at the older man and dutifully obeyed. The television was switched off and the men sat in awkward silence for a few seconds before Carl spoke.

"So are you going to explain your sudden visit and what that thing is doing here, or are we gonna keep staring?" He said, pointing at the android who stood behind the couch with a blank face and hands behind his back.

He was good looking, by android and human standards. A good 6 feet or more tall, muscular, and beautiful clear eyes made him a sight to behold.

Kamski laughed at Carl's question and replied, "Of course, how rude of me. This is the RK200- and this little baby is just for you". At that remark, the android turned his head toward Kamski with a semblance of an amused smirk.

"What? Eli, you know how I feel about having an android. They just make me too uncomfortable".

"Then it's a good thing I made this one especially for you. He's got great conversational skills, a sense of humor, and if you watch him you'll see that he doesn't really behave like an average android. He's got heart, Carl. That's why I think he'll be good for you".

Carl stared at the android, watching as it looked back towards him and gave him a friendly smile.

Kamski continued, "He'll help you with a lot of things, and I think you'll find that your quality of life can improve greatly. Just give him a chance".

The android said quietly, "I can cook, too". He was eyeing the half eaten bowl of ramen on the coffee table in front of the couch. "And not just ramen".

With a sigh of defeat, Carl knew he was beaten. "That certainly would be a help". He turned to Elijah. "Does he have a name?"

"Well, no, I was gonna let you name him. Rk200?"

The android faced Kamski.

"Register your name".

The android's LED turned yellow as he waited to process new information. Carl "hmm"-ed a little bit and eventually looked up at the android, answering: "Markus".

With a calm smile the android said, "My name is Markus". He walked closer to Carl and stuck out his hand to be shaken. Carl finally seemed to relax a bit as he shook Markus's hand.

"Thank you, Eli", Carl said. "It's nice to know that someone is looking out for me".

"Anything for my friends, Carl. Anything for you".
