Almost a year passed without the trace of Blaze. Robin didn't have much thought of it. He had other problems to worry about.
"Tell me, why do I have to attend Gotham Academy again? You know I finished all of the school courses by the age of 8." Damian said.
"Well, I expect all A's then. And you have to attend Gotham Academy because you need to socialize with more people around your age." Bruce sighed.
"I don't care about other people my age. Majority of them are imbeciles anyway. Besides, I attended Gotham Academy before. Still no change to my social circle so you shouldn't even bother trying."
"Tim goes to school. Jason and Dick went to school as well. You can't always be an exception, Damian." Bruce said as he patted Damian on the back. Damian rolled his eyes and reluctantly grabbed his backpack. "Now, Alfred has got the limo ready. It's 7:45 so you should get going very soon."
"Fine," Damian made his way outside the door. He saw Alfred opening the limo door for him. "What about Drake?" he asked Alfred.
"Drake insisted on walking with Ms. Brown."
"Oh good. I'm glad he's not going to be within 3 feet of me."
~Time Skip to the Interval between 2nd and 3rd Period~
It wasn't even 10 and Damian already despised everything about school. The hallways were always full of unique people . Some were the nerds and geeks discussing their latest creations and whatnot. Others were the popular people showing major and uncomfortable PDA. People making out in the hallway was a common thing, but Damian still had not gotten used to it despite his previous years of attending Gotham Academy. He wished that he was in the Manor so that he can train, play with Titus his dog, and --
Thunk!
Damian had accidentally knocked heads with a girl walking in the opposite direction as him.
"Watch it!" He hissed as he got up from the collision.
"Oh wow. Not even a sorry," he heard the somewhat-familiar voice. Damian looked up to see a brunette and stormy grey eyes looking up to him. Her height was up to his nose, and he found it somewhat amusing that a girl had such audacity to look him directly in the eye.
"Do you know who I am?" Damian interrogated.
"No, and I don't care. What I do care about is the lack of proper manners you have," the girl said as the bell that starts each period rang."Great. Now I'm late for school and its my first day. So if you don't have anything else to say then I'll be going."
"I'm Damian Wayne. Son of Bruce Wayne. You are messing with the wrong guy. My father basically owns Gotham Academy so if I were you, I would watch what you're saying."
"I'm soooo scared." the girl rolled her eyes.
"And who are you? I never saw your face in the hallways."
"I'm Brynn. Brynn Mclean. Now if you excuse me, I have to go to my 3rd period. I'm already late because of you."
"That's your problem. Not mine." Damian walked right past her without saying another word.
"So much for being the 'son of Bruce Wayne'."
~Another Time Skip to 5th Period (which is lunchtime for Damian and Brynn)~
Damian made his way to a table that was close to the corner of the cafeteria. He ignored the comments from fangirls and others. Everyone knew not to mess with Damian. They knew that he was the son of Bruce Wayne. But that didn't stop people having crushes on him. He sat by himself, just like the way he likes it. Damian knew that his father wanted to him socialize with others, but he couldn't help having to resist the urge to punch almost everyone for being idiots.
Damian was starting to eat his sandwich There was a sudden rustle of a paper bag and an outfit. He looked up to see Brynn settling herself down right in front of him. She pretended to not hear all the whispers and murmurs from everyone else about how much nerve she has.
"What are you doing here? This is my table." Damian demanded.
"Thanks for the welcome," Brynn replied. "I had no where else to sit."
"You could have just sat on the toilet and ate your lunch. It's where you belong anyways,." Damian muttered the last part to himself.
"I heard that."
"Good."
"You know what? I'm just going to make my way to somewhere else. Hope you're happy," Brynn grumbled as she grabbed her lunch and walked away.
"Whatever."
Brynn walked about halfway across the cafeteria when she was bombarded with catcalls from the 'popular jocks'. Damian's eyes were locked on her to see the whole situation.
"Girl you lookin' so fine!" someone whistled
"I like that damn..." another one called out.
Three jocks surrounded her and spoke more inappropriate comments.
"Go away. You're all nasty," Brynn said in a serious voice. At this point, Damian slowly got up getting ready to stop them. He felt his face turning red and hot. But why? It's not like he had any care for her. So why was he getting mad for no reason? It's probably because he didn't like people getting taken advantage of. That's definitely the one and only reason. It has to be.
The 3 boys ignored all her remarks and cornered her.
"One last warning. Get away from me or you'll regret it." she threatened.
"Don't tell me what to do," one of the boys snickered.
"I warned you," Brynn said as she kicked one of them in the no-no spot. He staggered back. When he recovered, there was fury in his eyes.
"Get her!" the boy roared.
Right before Brynn could react, there was a male voice.
"You heard her. If you lay one finger on her, the world will be a nightmare for you. Trust me." Damian growled.
The boy who was kicked by Brynn lunged forward to Damian. However, Damian gracefully dodged and kicked the boy in the stomach so hard, it knocked him out. Everyone in the cafeteria sat there watching intensely, anticipating what would happen next. Some even took out their phones and started recording. Fortunately, the two other boys got the hint and hastily dragged the unconscious jock away. Much to everyone's disappointment, they just got back into what they were doing before. Brynn heard someone say how common this was and how everyone knew not to mess with Damian.
"Are you okay?" Damian asked.
"I'm fine. I could have handled it by myself." Brynn dusted herself.
"No gratitude? I should have expected this."
"I didn't need anyone's help."
"Learn how to say thank you," Damian stormed off. He was flabbergasted with the lack of gratefulness that girl had.
"You never should have helped me," Brynn muttered, walking away in the opposite direction.
