Blaze sat on the tattered and worn out couch, in her costume. The brunette was waiting for The Unknown to send her a target, so she decided to watch some television to kill time. She turned on the news channel and stared at the rusty television.

"There is a report of around 9 people, maybe even more, killed in the past week. Majority of them were high-classed citizens who ran businesses. We advise everyone to be extremely cautious, as the murderer is still on the loose. The GCPD is still investigating and more information will be told as soon as we get them," A news anchor stated. The woman sighed, "And if the murderer is miraculously watching this, then please stop. Your victims have families too."

Blaze took a big breath and shut off the television. The negativity was unwanted. She had a job to do, so she did it. The teen just wanted to get today's kill over with. As if on cue, she heard a notification from her phone. Blaze looked at the name and read Maria Reynolds. The short description next to her said that Reynolds was a woman who also lied to The Unknown. She promised them that she would give The Unknown 50% of her income if they didn't terminate her drug business. But it turns out that she only gave him 15%. Not only that, but she cheated on her husband. Well, her husband was one of The Unknown's best companion. Maria Reynolds was apparently #3 on the hit-list.

Aunt Marissa wasn't home, which probably meant that she too, was off killing some people with Deathstroke. Blaze opened the door and flew to the top of a building. At that point, she didn't care about being seen. The sooner she got her job done, the faster she could go home. She sat on the roof of a building that was in front of where Reynolds supposedly worked at. A few minutes passed before a woman with voluminous hair came out. She was dark skinned and came from a strip club. Reynolds sauntered over to an alleyway, presumably to smoke a cigarette. Blaze was astonished at the lack of fear Reynolds had. She jumped off the building and followed Reynolds into the alleyway.

"I knew you were coming," Reynolds said nonchalantly.

"And you're not even scared?" Blaze inquired.

"Well, I tried to cover it up," she winked.

"Alright. Are we going to get this over with or are you going to put up a fight?"

Reynolds shrugged and threw the blunt away. "Just get it over with. My life isn't worth it anyways."

"Okay then..." Blaze's eyes went wide. "I'll make sure it's painless," she felt a pang of guilt.

Reynolds had her back against the wall and spread her arms wide. Blaze took a deep breath and put her palm up at her victim. A wave of fire generated from her hand and overcame Reynolds. After Blaze was sure she was dead, she waved her hand to distinguish it. When the flames died out, she saw a pile of ashes from where Reynolds was once standing. Her surrounding environment remained unharmed. Before the girl could even turn around, she saw a shadow looming over where Reynolds was. "You're kidding," she rolled her eyes.

"No, I'm not," a gruff voice spoke.

Turning around, Blaze saw that Batman himself was standing right in front of her.

"I can't be apprehended. I'll just escape and I'll do it every single time," she gritted her teeth.

"I am not here to imprison you. I'm here to talk. Come on, I'll get you something to eat."

"Won't people give you weird looks? Considering you know... you're in your Batman costume," Blaze crossed her arms.

"It's alright. The worst thing that can happen is that they snap a few pictures. Nothing too bad."

"Fine. But lay one finger on me, and I'm out," she huffed.

Batman chuckled. "Let's go. I know a cafe that makes the best tea."

Blaze didn't know how much she needed that drink until she actually got it. She chugged it down in one sip, not caring how hot it was. "Told you it was the best," Batman said.

Blaze only shrugged. "It's decent."

But the truth was, it was indeed, one of the best tea she had ever had. "So why did you bring me here again?"

"I wanted to talk to you about some matters."

"Ok, fine," Blaze grumbled. "Let's just get the elephant in the room out of the way."

"Right. I'm not going to sugar coat it," Batman warned.

"I didn't expect you too."

"You need to stop killing innocent citizens," he said calmly.

Blaze snickered. "As someone who claims themselves as the World's Greatest Detective, then you should already figure out that it's not all that easy." She sneered, "You think killing innocent people is just like my hobby? I kill those who deserve it. I'm doing the world a favor. Something you couldn't do."

"Blaze listen to me. No one deserves getting killed. They would be punished by being sent to prison anyway," Batman stated.

"Giving them the ability to escape!" Blaze was practically yelling now. The people in the cafe turned around to look at her. "You have such high regards for criminals. Criminals for Pete's sake!" Blaze stood up. "Look, I really appreciate the tea, but I can't have this conversation with you."

Before she could take a step, Batman said, "I know your secrets, Blaze. I've been keeping track of you ever since your first kill. I know who you really are. I know that you are working for criminals. You have remarkable powers, don't get me wrong, but you tend to push those who are trying to help. And that's your Achilles' Heel."

Blaze glared at Batman, wiping away a tear that escaped from her eyes. "If you know why I'm doing this, then why don't you help me?" her voice cracked.

Batman sighed. "It's really not that easy... Brynn." His eyes met her glistening ones. However, her sad eyes soon turned into fury.

"Then what was the fucking point of this conversation, Batman?"

Before he could even answer, Blaze interrupted him. "You know what? I've dealt with this for so long. I can deal with this longer. I can keep this up by myself. Don't even try and imprison me. Like I said before, I'll escape every single jail cell you throw me into. Try and speak to me again, and I'll fry your insides." With that last sentence, she stormed out. You could literally see smoke coming from her ears. That's how mad she was.

She looked forward to seeing that Wayne boy tomorrow. She didn't know why. I guess it was simply because she liked his comfort. That's all.
