It was Saturday night. Robin was sitting on the very top of an apartment, all the way at the ledge with his legs dangling off the edge. Yesterday's patrol wasn't that fun. Nothing except the usual attempted robbery at your local bank. Fall was definitely setting in. Robin could already feel the dead leaves falling off of their branches. The wind was getting stronger and the air around him was getting colder. He scanned the area one more time to see if something changed. Much to his surprise, there were two figures in a crack of an abandoned building.
"Finally, some action," he grumbled to himself as he jumped off the building to check it out. He positioned himself to make it so that he was sitting outside of the crack but giving him a visible view of everything that was going on. Little did the two figures know that Robin could hear and see everything with them knowing.
"Please... we can work this out. Just don't kill me!" Robin saw a clear view of a woman in a business attire. She had tears in her eyes and was gripping a suitcase which he assumed was empty.
"We had a deal. You give me the money, and Penguin wouldn't send me to kill you. But, you tried to trick me into giving me an empty case. It doesn't work like that." Robin's eyes widened in shock when he saw that the other figure was... Blaze??
"I'm so sorry! I never should have done that to you. Please, I'll give you all the money you could ever dream of and you let me go," the woman put the suitcase down, dropped onto her knees, and clasped her two hands together.
"It's too late to apologize. All you should do now is to wish that this death will be as painless as possible. But I don't think it will be," Blaze gripped her fist into a tight ball and fire began to form around. It was probably a good idea to interfere with this before she actually does kill the woman.
Robin jumped down the crack, and onto Blaze, pinning her down. Since she was startled, the fire died out on her fist. He turned around to the woman and yelled, "Go! Now!" Quickly, the woman got up and ran away as fast as her heels would let her, leaving the suitcase behind. Now, it was just Robin and Blaze. "What the hell did you do?!" Blaze screamed as she kicked Robin in the groin as hard as she could. He fell back and clutched his private in pain,
"You were about to kill the fucking lady! He yelled as the pain subsided.
Blaze got up to her feet and this time, balled her two fists and created a fire.
"Don't interfere with my business you shit!" she blasted the flames onto the ground, setting the whole building on fire. Robin dodged the parts that were burning and decided that safety was his main priority. He can deal with Blaze later. Robin broke the glass on the side of the wall and jumped out because the flames were getting stronger and hotter. Within seconds, the whole building caught on fire. The fire was so strong, that in a few minutes, the building was already halfway gone. Firefighters and police officers arrived at the scene. It was a little too late for that. With more than half of the building already gone, Robin decided to look for Blaze.
She wasn't there.
It was as if she was never there.
The sounds of sirens rang in Robin's ear.
"Where did she go?" he thought to himself. Boy Wonder looked up to see a trail of smoke that was in the skies. He followed it only to be met with no smoke left. A dead end.
Blaze was much more power than he thought.
