"Thank you," Tyler mumbles, sipping the coffee Josh ordered for him. It tastes sweet, like vanilla. Tyler loves vanilla everything. He also loves chocolate everything. Except for chocolate ice cream. Unless it has peanut butter. Otherwise it's just yucky.

"No problem," Josh smiles, sliding into the booth across from the boy. He hands Tyler a blueberry muffin he bought, to which the little gasps and begins eating it immeditatlely. "You're so cute."

Tyler blushes, nibbling on the sweet treat. He loves, loves, loves sugar and his coffee tastes so, so, so sweet he's sure to be bouncing off the walls sooner or later.

"Can I ask you something?"

Tyler nods, alternating between eating his muffin and gulping down his drink. Everything is so yummy and he feels full of energy.

"Um... Well, why don't you talk that much?"

He shrugs, he's kinda quiet when he's little. And when he's not little, he's too shy.

"Are you shyyyy?" Josh teases, reaching across the table and poking at Tyler's sides. The boy squeaks, bits of food flying out of his mouth as he laughs.

"No!" Tyler giggles, although he certainly is. "I'm a big kid."

"I know you're a big kid," Josh chuckles. "That's not what I was asking, though."

"I'm a big kid?" Tyler repeats, this time in confusion.

"Are you not?"

Tyler shrugs, biting on the end of his straw nervously. Should he tell Josh, warn him ahead of time? What if Josh doesn't want a relationship like this? What if he decides he no longer likes Tyler? The boy groans, wanting to slip farther into little space but unable to.

"Tyler?"

He looks up, eyes wide, as if Josh somehow just found out his secret. "Hm?"

"Are you?" Josh repeats, his feet on either side of Tyler's as their knees touch.

"I 'unno," Tyler says vaguely, messing with the muffin wrapper and chewing on the straw. "Prolly not."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Josh chuckles. "How old are you?"

"Twenty... Two... I think."

"You think?"

Tyler blushes, nodding vigorously. He's more like seven or so, but how is he supposed to tell Josh that? He sucks down the rest of his coffee, legs bouncing and hands shaking. He has so much energy right now! They should go to the playground!

"Josh?"

"Yeah?"

"Can... Can we go to the playground?"

"Oh, um, sure! What are we going to do there?" Josh tosses their trash away, not questioning it when Tyler's fingers wrap around his pinky and they walk out.

"Play! Duh!"

"Right, duh," Josh chuckles, knowing that something is a little off but unsure of what. Tyler doesn't really act twenty-two, more like a small child. Josh isn't complaining though, he actually finds it really cute.

He opens the door for the brunette, helping him buckle up before going to his own side and driving to the playground. Out of the corner of his eye, Josh can see Tyler fidgeting.

"You okay?"

"Really wanna play," Tyler speaks quickly, knees bouncing fast. "Want you to play with me!"

"Oh gosh, it's the coffee, isn't it?"

"And sugar!" Tyler giggles, gasping as he remembers they have a box of donuts. He goes to reach for it, but Josh swats his hand away.

"No, no more sugar."

Tyler huffs, crossing his arms over his chest. He turns away from Josh, staring out the window and remaining silent the whole rest of the ride. That is, until he sees the playground.

"Look!" He gasps. "Look!"

"I know," Josh laughs, pulling into the parking lot and helping the boy out. "What do you want to play?"

"Tag!" Tyler yells, his small hand colliding with the man's chest. "You're it!"

He takes off running. Josh groans. Sure, the coffee gave him some energy but running sucks. How could such a small human contain so much energy?

"Come get me, Josh!" The cutest voice on the planet yells, little eyes peeking out from behind the slide. Alright, since Tyler is cute Josh guesses he can do some running.

So, he sprints at the boy, laughing as he squeals and takes off. Thankfully there's only one other family at the park, a mother with her baby, so they don't have to worry about running into anybody. Josh catches Tyler as he attempts to climb a ladder. His hands grab the boys hips, pulling him away from the jungle gym and twirling him around.

"Stop!" Tyler giggles, squealing so loud the mama and her baby start staring. "No fair! You're faster!"

Josh sets him down carefully, patting his little brown curls. "It's not my fault you have little legs."

"'S not mine neither!" Tyler counters, slapping Josh a little too hard on his bicep. "You're it!"

He goes to run but Josh is faster, scooping the boy right up off of his feet and holding him bridal style. "It's called tagging, not slapping."

Tyler gasps, lower lip jutting out as he rubs the spot where he hit Josh. "I's sorry, was a accident..."

Josh lets out an airy chuckle, carrying Tyler back to the car seeing as the boy is now struggling to keep his eyes open, snuggling into Josh's chest. That sugar high sure wore off fast.

"I's sorry," Tyler repeats, mumbling nonsense at this point. "Don't hate me, I's need a donut..."

Josh loads him in the front seat gently, leaning the seat back so Tyler can relax easily. Seconds after they're on the road, Tyler is fast asleep. Josh takes a deep breath, finally getting a moment to process what the heck just happened.

Tyler definitely acts like a little kid. He talks, walks, eats, and dresses like one. It's so cute, there's no denying that, but Josh is a little confused. He has no idea why Tyler is like that. Can he help it? If he can, does he not want to?

Josh glances at the sleeping angel, noticing how even his whole demeanor just seems small. It certainly peaks Josh's interest. He'll have to do some research when he gets home.
