my thoughts crashed when a cough sound was made from the east part of the room. my eyes made its way to a chubby short haired nurse who was smiling dearly at me.
NURSE
"i see, you're awake."
RAEYUN
"why am i here? what is this?" (sighs)
NURSE
"dear, aren't you aware that you have terminal lung cancer?"
RAEYUN
"yes. i am completely aware that i'm already in stage four of this
depressing lung cancer
but all i'm asking is,
why the fuck am i here?"
i snapped. being reminded that my death is nearing is obviously depressing.
in fact, depressing would be an understatement if you'd ask me.
ever since i stopped making friends, i stopped talking to people too, and that explains my rudeness. i trust no one, and i was never kind to anyone, except the seven boys. they're the only exception.
NURSE
"hm.. they said you collapsed
on the streets, but luckily someone was there to help you."
RAEYUN
"luckily? pft."
NURSE
"why? aren't you glad?"
RAEYUN
"if i were to die, i don't want to die in this s-shithole. i'd rather die peacefully inside my apartment.. t-this place is so.." (sobs) "depressing."
NURSE
"we're trying our very best to make y---"
RAEYUN
"i-i've had enough. there's no cure for stage four cancer... how can you say something so stupid in this state?"
NURSE
"i-i'm sorry. it's my first week here."
「 pang. i was going overboard. simple words that left her lips stabbed me, guilt pierced right through my chest.」
RAEYUN
"i-i'm so sorry... i'm in the process of accepting my fate.. that explains my attitude. (chuckles sarcastically in between sobs)
NURSE
"it's really okay... since i couldn't do much help. you can hug me and cry all you want. it pains me to see you like this.."
RAEYUN
"that's so sweet.. b-but instead of crying and hugging you... can you help me?"
NURSE
"hm, if only you will tell me first."
RAEYUN
"i-it's my first time trusting someone honestly.. i trust you.. so please, can you grant me my last wish, my death wish?"
NURSE
"what is it?"
RAEYUN
"grant me eternal peace."
