"gosh. if only i was prepared to see this."

raeyun said from the back seat. i turned around to her direction, only to see her gasping. she's in the sea of bt21 plushies. a cute sight, honestly.

i happened to buy them out of anxiety everytime i'm going to visit raeyun in the hospital. i couldn't think of any gift.

not that the sixty five centimeters plushies were too big, but it kind of consumed the back seat because i bought 8 of them.

TAEHYUNG
"what do you mean? you look cute." (winks)

i faced the road again and continued driving at exactly 2:35 in the morning. instead of a goodnight's sleep, i am currently driving all the way to daegu. sigh.

the things i do for raeyun.

RAEYUN
(mutters)
"it's kind of useless, taehyung."

TAEHYUNG
(gasps)
"how dare you say that in front of tata, chimmy, rj, shooky, koy--"

RAEYUN
"no," (chuckles)
"i meant these stuff you spent money for. i'm going to die anyway so i can't accept th--"

TAEHYUNG
"wait, hold it right there.
you are not going to die, miss.
and quit being a negative thinker."

RAEYUN
"um, stating the obvious, i have stage four lung cancer so how can--"

TAEHYUNG
(sighs and looks at her
seriously through the mirror)
"listen, your chest was literally screaming
hues of yellow the first day i saw you,
but in the hospital, you were purple.. so maybe you survived. maybe you should've already been dead after the fanmeet. that is why from yellow, it turned to purple, a color i've never seen before.
every person i saw, who had the absence
of green in them, died. except you."

silence then filled inside the car, which made the atmosphere more serious, yet peaceful.

TAEHYUNG
"thanks for listening to my ted talk."

RAEYUN
"so you mean to say that purple
could be the color of hope?"
(looks at taehyung)

TAEHYUNG
"as cliché as it may be, then fuck yes."

from the mirror, i can see her lips slowly forming into a sad yet hopeful smile. her timid smile woke me up from my drowsiness, and god i'm telling you, that was such a beautiful sight.

RAEYUN
"okay. i apologize for my
attitude a few minutes ago."

TAEHYUNG
"no, it's really
fine. soften up, okay?
just sleep for the meantime
and i'll wake you up by sunrise."

RAEYUN
"okay. thanks babe,"

TAEHYUNG
"well that escalated quickly."

"wait, wait,
what did you just say? did i hear it right?"

RAEYUN

i'm powerful enough to do this,
