"Jennie!"

Jisoo went flying down the stairs, three steps at a time. She tried to think of something, anything!

"The police are here!" She let out a slight fib, terrified of the outcome. Her voice trembling as her body shook with fear.

"What! You called the police on me! I knew I shouldn't of trusted you!"

But Jisoo couldn't let this criminal slip.

"Just kidding! Hahha, I got you there. My grandparents made a surprise visit. You need to get in my room, now."

Jennie came to the bottom of the stairs, looking up at Jisoo.

"That was not a funny joke. Bad girls get punished, don't forget it." Jennie came running up the stairs stealthily as she slithered into Jisoo's room.

"I'll take care of them. Please don't touch anything!" But Jisoo wasn't promised.

"Hi honey!" Her mother called from below.

"Hey grandma!" Jisoo yelled, cringing.

Jisoo gave her mom an awkward hug and grabbed some of the remaining groceries. Jisoo couldn't believe what was happening right now.

"Uh...I'm not that old sweetheart." Her mom raised an eyebrow, setting the veggies on the counter.

"It was a joke." Jisoo whispered, hoping Jennie wasn't eavesdropping.

"Not a very funny one. Okay, look. It's really late and I need sleep. Please don't stay up too late! You tend to do that. We'll do the groceries tomorrow." Her mom disappeared up the stairs.

Jisoo lay her head back, exhaling as she heard her mothers door close.

"Everything alright?"

"OH my god, yes." Jisoo screamed, Jennie had been downstairs the whole time. "How did you get down here? What all did you hear?"

"I just did and not much. Are you sure that was your grandma? Why'd she go upstairs?"

"She's spending the night."

"Oh. Okay."

Jennie and Jisoo took a walk around the woods behind Jisoo's house.

The cold air had a warm breeze and the setting sun snuck through the tall trees. The grass was damp, but the girls didn't mind it.

"You know, you could say thank you for me lending you my pajamas." Jisoo said, cracking a small grin.

"Eh, don't sass me."

For some reason, Jisoo wasn't afraid of Jennie. Despite her past, Jisoo has always been a very optimistic person who looks on the bright side of things.

She believes Jennie can have a second chance.

"So, why'd you kill five people?"

"Keep on talking and it'll be six."

Jisoo weirdly liked Jennie's harshness. She liked being yelled by at Jennie, partly because she knew Jennie would never kill her.

She didn't know why she knew that.

"I kill people...because they don't get me."

Jennie stared at the ground as they walked, her arms crossed, clearly frustrated.

"They think they can toss me around, I wanted to show them who's the boss around here."

"I get that. I know how you feel."

"No you don't! You've never killed a person and that's exactly why you don't understand."

Jisoo decided to back off. She liked hearing Jennie talk because it was interesting, she's never talked to a murderer before.

The sky was a deep orange fading to an even deeper blue. Jisoo liked sunsets, they made her feel calm. But somehow around Jennie, her heart still raced.

"What did you mean by 'bad girls get punished'?" Jisoo asked curiously, forgetting that Jennie wanted her to be quiet.

"You'll know when you experience it."

"Are you going to kill me?" Jisoo thought Jennie was mysterious, and that upset her.

"If you keep running your mouth, yes." Jennie muttered through clenched teeth.

"You seem really tense." Jisoo thought out loud. "Maybe you'd like this."

Jisoo leaned in for a hug, but Jennie grabbed her neck.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?"

"Oh uh..." Jisoo struggled to talk, probably because Jennie's hand was around her neck again.

"Don't touch me or I'll hurt you, understand? You like being choked, disgusting." Her fingers slipped from the grasp and fell to her side. "All you are is a slut, Jisoo."

Jisoo could tell Jennie liked to tease her.

She rubbed her neck, seizing the pain by looking up at the sky.

"I don't like it, and why do you choke me so much?"

A silence endured between the two girls as night fell.

Jennie stopped walking.

"You can tell me. I'm here for you, Jennie."

Jennie looked Jisoo in the eyes.

"I can't...I'm sorry but I just can't."
