I twirled the small charm from my bracelet and glanced at it. There were charms with gold and diamonds in it, a rose, a feather, a heart, a bird in a golden cage and a crown.

It was past midnight and even if there was nothing wrong with me I couldn't stop thinking and go to sleep, I just couldn't let myself rest. After a few minutes of lying there still on the bed, I gave up, got up from the bed and started to pace around my bedroom before a small tap on the window made me jump startled.

I got closer to the balcony's doors slowly being careful enough and gave a sigh of relief when I saw that it was just Alik who was outside on the balcony.

"What the bloody hell Alik, I thought it was a vampire." I hissed at him as I opened the balcony doors for him and started to braid my hair.

"And what am I, a dog?" Alik asked me with a smirk as he entered my bedroom.

I rolled my eyes at him and continue to braid my hair.

"You know what I'm talking about Alik, besides what are you doing here so late?" I asked him as I finished braiding my hair.

"I came here so I can show you something; do you remember when I told you that vampires had certain abilities? Well, it's time you start practicing." Alik told me with a devilish glint in his eyes, what was he up to?

"Right now? But its midnight, can't it be tomorrow in the morning?" I asked Alik as I looked at him.

"You're right Alice, why don't we practice tomorrow your vampire abilities in plain sight, so everyone can see," Alik said sarcastically.

I gave a groan.

"Alright, I understand I'll be back in a few seconds," I told Alik as I started to head to my bathroom.

"Where are you going?" Alik asked me confused.

"To get dressed, I don't plan on going to that practice you're talking about in my pajamas," I told him before I left the room.

A few moments later I entered the room and headed to the balcony where Alik was.

"You look radiant," Alik told me as he looked at me.

I looked at him confused.

"But this is my huntress gear; you have seen me in it before," I said as I looked at myself confused, what was he talking about?

"I'm talking about your face, you seem to glow. You fed, recently didn't you?" Alik asked me.

I mentally slapped myself on the forehead, I was so stupid.

"Oh, yes I did," I said softly trying to not embarrass myself more.

"On who, who gave you the blood you needed?" Alik asked me.

I was taken back by his question, he just asked as if he was asking for the weather or something like that.

"A friend, it was a friend who gave me the blood." I simply said as I looked towards the forest.

"Was it Antonio?" Alik asked me with a smirk.

I snapped my head towards him.

"Do you honestly think I would feed off from Antonio who is my ex-boyfriend and tried to kill me?" I asked him.

Alik shrugged.

"Maybe you two have a complicated relationship, who knows," Alik said with a small smirk.

I shook my head slightly trying to control my anger because Alik was enjoying this.

"We don't, so get that idea out of your head," I told him in between my teeth.
