"No one, I'm in love with no one," I said as I brushed Alik off, maybe a little bit too quick to help my case.
"Really, if that's so why are you so nervous then?" Alik said as he eyed me suspiciously.
I looked at Beck who was behind Alik and pleaded him for help with my eyes. Beck shook his head and placed his hands on his neck pretending to be choking; even now he was still mocking me.
"I'm still waiting for your answer Alice," Alik said as he looked at me with a small smirk.
I took a small breath and let my eyes wander around so I could avoid meeting Alik's gaze. As I looked around I noticed the picture frame that I had in my desk, it was a picture I had taken with the Salt's brothers when Beck and I were six and Nicholas was seven and a half, that was it!
"Nicholas," I said calmly.
Both Beck and Alik looked at me confused.
"What's going on with Nicholas?" Alik asked me lost.
"I used to have a crush on Nicholas before when I was little and now that things have been weird between us Beck is convinced that I'm in love with Nicholas," I told him hoping that for once Beck would have my back on this.
Beck looked at me confused.
"Really, I did?" Beck said as he looked at me.
I glared at Beck.
"Yes, you said that," I told Beck hoping that he would take a hint.
"Right I did, but I thought we weren't going to tell anyone, and I thought that anyone included Alik, but I guess Alik can keep your dirty little secret, right?" Beck said as he looked at Alik with a smile.
I was really going to kill Beck for this.
"Sure, I could do that," Alik said as he looked at me.
"Don't worry because you won't have to do that, I'm not in love with anyone," I said as I headed to my closet for my coat.
"Sure, keep lying to yourself like that," Beck said with a low chuckle knowing that I understood the secret meaning of that.
I gave a sigh and placed on my light brown coat.
"How did I ever end up with such a marvelous friend like you Beck?" I told him.
"I don't know maybe you did something amazing and thoughtful in your past like but don't worry about losing me Smarty, I'll be around for a while being the best friend you could ask for," Beck said with a dark smirk.
"Smashing, completely wonderful Beck this is just what I wanted to hear," I said as I fastened my coat.
"With all of this, I forgot to ask you, where exactly do you think you are going, Alice?" Alik asked me.
"Oh right, where are you going Alice?" Beck asked me as he looked at me as well.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm going out." I told them as I straighten my clothes and fixed my hair.
"But you can't." Alik started and I smiled at this.
I raised my hand and stopped him.
"I know this is my first time in Russia, but I think I'll be able to manage," I told Alik with a simple shrug.
"It's not that Alice, it's just the simple fact that you can't go; you can't leave the Academy especially alone," Alik told me and I nearly rolled my eyes at this, they should really give more credit as a huntress.
"But I'm not going alone," I told him as I grabbed my shoes.
"Really, who are you going with?" Alik said suddenly curious and just at the same time, he asked that Nicholas conveniently walked in, too much of a coincidence if you ask me.
