It rang.
It rang over and over again, but I just stared at it before I tossed it to the passenger seat.
It was quiet for a few seconds before it all started again; with a groan I slowed down the speed and reached for the phone.
"Hello?" I said answering as I kept my gaze in the road.
"You left!" A voice screamed at the other end.
I winced and pulled the cell phone away from my ear, who knew that Mason had a powerful set of lungs.
"Alice!" Mason yelled again.
"Yes?" I said softly.
"Where are you?" Mason asked me, I could tell that he was actually making a big effort to control his anger.
"I went to pick up Nicholas." I told him.
"That's the exact same thing Peter said when we asked him about you but according to Eva, Beck already left in the afternoon the Academy to go pick up his brother, Felix and Charles. So, tell me Alice, where are you and tell me the truth okay?" Mason told me.
I bit my lip nervously.
"I can't tell you, I'm sorry." I told Mason as I kept driving.
"Ryder is worried about you yet when we asked him why you had left so suddenly Ryder remained silent. Kole kept pressuring him until Ryder got mad at everyone and walked away. What happened between you two?" Mason asked me.
I gave a sigh.
"I told him the truth Mason; I guess he needs some time." I said in a soft voice.
"Alice, I don't think Ryder needs time, he's actually very worried about you." Mason told me.
I gave a sigh.
"You know I can't face him Mason, at least not like this; besides I have something to do first that cannot wait at all." I said as I tapped impatiently the steering wheel.
"And what exactly are you going to do?" Mason asked me.
"Promise you won't tell anyone about it?" I asked Mason in a wary tone.
"I promise I won't." Mason replied to me.
"I got a new lead on Jerome and I'm going there." I told Mason.
"You are looking for Jerome?" Mason asked shocked.
I pursed my lips.
"Mason I have been searching for Jerome ever since he disappeared and I found out why, Mason the vampires used one of their tricks to make Jerome's blood just like mine for a reason, once they get a hold of Jerome everything will go down from there." I told Mason.
"Why didn't you tell us that you were doing this that you were leaving?" Mason asked.
I gave a small groan.
"Because I do not want to endanger any of you, that's the reason why I'm doing this alone and why I won't tell you where I am or where I'm going." I told him.
"Do you realize that this won't stop me, you know I could always track your phone down and find you?" Mason told me.
I gave a small chuckle.
"I'm always a step ahead of you Mason; don't you think I already thought about that? This is why my phone will take a small detour and won't go with me. I'm sorry Mason but I do hope to see you again." I said before I threw my phone outside the window.
Peter knew about this and already had everything backed up, I had another phone in case of emergencies, but this time I wouldn't need it.
I turned to the left again and ran down the hallway; it didn't matter how many turns I took or how fast I ran I just couldn't catch up to him.
