"What did that bag ever do to you?" A voice said behind me.

"What?" I said slightly startled as I turned around and wiped off the sweat from my forehead.

"You have been spending your entire days for a whole week in the training room all you do is train and go to sleep, do you even eat?" Alik said as he threw me a small white towel.

"Yeah, I do," I said as I cleaned off the sweat from my neck.

"Yeah, what do you mean by yeah? Since when you answer with a vague yeah instead of a firm and clear yes?" Alik asked me as he narrowed his gaze at me.

I gave a sigh, I already knew where this conversation was headed.

"What do you want Alik?" I asked him in a tired tone.

"You seem annoyed, have I upset you?" Alik asked me as he leaned against one of the weight machines.

"No, you haven't I just have some things to do alright?" I told him hoping that he would get the hint and simply leave me alone.

"Oh right, I forgot that you had made plans already, you have a whole afternoon left of beating that boxing bag," Alik said in a sarcastic tone, what was his plan today?

To annoy the living hell out of me?

"Drop the sarcasm Alik; I'm not in the mood," I said as I headed to where they had the daggers.

"You would be in the mood if you ate some food, my aunt Eva told me that you haven't eaten in days, I still don't get how you can have that energy and strength if you haven't eaten anything in days," Alik said as he looked at me strangely.

"Food is not the only thing I can get energy from," I told Alik as I started to throw the daggers.

"You drank blood. Alice, it's not the wisest thing to do at the moment, people could get suspicious if Beck shows up with wounds." Alik told me as he got closer to me, I could notice the worrisome tone his voice carried.

"I didn't feed off from Beck," I said as I continue to throw the daggers towards the targets.

"Then you fed off from Nicholas or another of your special friends?" Alik asked me in a tone I couldn't quite place.

Something about the way he said the word 'special' gave me an uneasy feeling.

"There are blood bags you know?" I told Alik as I turned around and looked at him with a glare.

"That explains a lot." Alik simply said and I shook my head.

I gave a sigh and met his gaze.

"Why are you here Alik and tell me the real reason," I said as I tried to keep my tone light.

"Fine, you got me there. No one sent me to check on you; I'm here on my own because I was worried about you." Alik admitted sheepishly.

"Worried now, why would you be worried? I'm completely fine." I told him as I tried to shrug the entire matter off.

"That's what you keep saying but I know it's a complete lie, you have isolated yourself from everyone for a whole week how is that normal behavior?" Alik asked me and I felt his heavy gaze on me.

"It is if you're mourning, I lost someone special for me after all," I said as I looked at my white tank top and noticed that it hung loose, maybe Alik was right, I needed to eat real food.

"I think you have mourned enough Alik, this doesn't justify the fact that ever since that night all you do is practice here in the training room or outside in the battlefields and if it's not that you just lock yourself in your bedroom, I get it that you're a dedicated huntress and all but isn't this pushing the limits? You need to do something to get your mind off your problems even if it is for a while." Alik told me and I knew he was right.
