This one's SUPER long cuz it's a whole ass story before we get to the juicy lemon.

"Flush."

Kakuzu angrily slaps another wad of cash onto the table making this your third win in a row.

His jade eyes never left their gaze on the money that you pulled to your side, "You better not be cheating there, Yana." his deep voice grumbled.

"I'm not." you say innocently as you add your earnings to your growing stash.

"Hmph."

You giggled at his face as it showed his thinning patience.

"Calm down, Kakuzu, you'll win eventually, and when you do, you can have all my earnings plus my cash from the last bounty. Deal?"

His eyes meet yours as an intrested glint crosses them. "Deal."

The next round continued with you about to win.

"How?!"

"Hmph." Kakuzu slapped the cards in front of you as if to smugly show off his victory. "Fork it over, kid."

You slide him the briefcase along with the fat stacks you've been accumulating. He takes them both and gets up without an offer for another round.

"Going to go count that? You know, I'd never cheat any of that money. It's all there."

He ignores you as the door to the stairs slammed behind him.

You were left alone in the livingroom. 'Some boyfriend he is.'

That night, the skies darkened and clouds loomed overhead. Thunder and lightning follow soon after, and then the downpour.

Inside was toasty and dry, but outside was what seemed like a midsummer's typhoon.

"Yana-chan, when do you think the rain will stop?"

Looking up from the dishes you were cleaning, "Soon, Tobi. Soon." You were almost done clearing up the table from dinner, and Tobi was staring out the window, watching the onslaught of a storm.

Suddenly, a flash of lightning lit up the room and the loud bang ensued with all the lights turning off.

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! IT'S DARK! TOBI CAN'T SEE!"

"Calm down, Tobi." you pulled out a paper lantern and lit it. "There's a generator downstairs, we just gotta switch it on."

"Already on it." a deep voice rumbled. "Like Hell, I'm going to be counting my money in the dark."

You chuckled awkwardly, damning yourself and saying, 'Of course it's about his money.' "Follow me to the basement." you took off your apron and started leading Kakuzu to the basement doors.

"Tobi wants to help too!" the orange masked man followed gleefully behind.

Once down the steps, you had to navigate to a small door labeled "Control Room".

Inside were more doors to more rooms and a large generator at one end. The ceiling was lower here, and only the light from the lamp illuminated the dark empty corners.

"Will you be needing any help?" you offer Kakuzu as he walks over to the machine.

"I got this." he said as his heart with the lightning mask emerges from his back.
