(AGH! MESSY, MESSY! HOW DID I JUST REALIZE I DIDN'T GIVE CREDIT TO THE REQUESTOR?! little_miss_pein THANK YOU FOR SUGGESTING, AND SORRY FOR FORGETTING!

BTW, I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION THIS IS A LEMON! LIKE, HOW?!)

Another hit to the tree, and the wood completely splintered and cracked into half.

Pein pulled his fist away revealing the destroyed lumber and scattered bark.

"Excellent work; you're more stronger than I thought."

He only hums in response.

"Are you ready to take a break?"

His purple ringed eyes give you a glance before he turns his back to you and picks up the lunch you had packed that morning for the two of you. He hands you yours that was wrapped in indigo cloth and tied neatly at the top, while his was a light green.

After quietly thanking you for the food, he opened up his bento to find a beautifully arranged lunch meal, ready to eat.

"How do you find the time to do these things?"

"What, cook? I use clones if I'm busy so I can have time to do other things. Today, I was lucky though; I got to make breakfast, lunch for everyone, and plan dinner ahead of time this morning."

"I see." Pein's quiet and stoic demeanor was a change from Tobi's loud shenanigans, Hidan's constant swearing and complaining, Deidara's preaching of his art, Kakuzu's blasphemy and threats, Sasori's angry muttering, Zestu's strange and humorous behavior, Konan's complete silence, Kisame's small talk, and Itachi's more comfortable and respectful presence.

You both ate in the peaceful hush of the forest, with only the sounds of the wind and the song of a few birds decorating the quiet.

After a while, Pein put down his chopsticks and stared down at the empty bento box in his lap.

"Done?"

He hums in response, handing you the utensils along with the bento box. His eyes never left his lap.

"Is something wrong?" you give him a concerned glance while clearing up.

"No, nothing of that sort."

Deciding not to prod him further, you lied down onto the soft grass and gazed up into the cloudless blue sky above.

Pein follows your actions, and lies down next to you.

"Hey Pein?"

"Hm?"

"Do you feel like I'm doing something wrong?"

"Like what?"

You pondered a bit before answering with, "Everything. This whole reviving the Akatsuki thing..."

He thought over his reply as well before turning over to you with, "Whatever you're doing, your thoughts and feelings are what impacts the most than what actually happens to you."

"Yeah, but what about how everyone else is feeling about this?"

"Hmm..."

All was quiet again.

"Yana."

"Yeah?"

"Do you care about what I think about all this?"

"Of course I do."

"Then you should know that I have no hatred or objectifications toward you for going through with your plans. It shouldn't matter that anyone else is angry for coming back. They've been given a second chance to live life once more, and if they choose to be bitter about that, then so be it, but they are under your command, and as such, you shouldn't worry yourself over how you go through with plans that you yourself made."
