Chapter Eight: Recovery

A few days passed with little action in the manor. Felicity volunteered to keep an eye on the cameras in Milla's hideout while the others took a break from saving people. Oliver still had said nothing about the picture he had found. He still couldn't process it.

Ruby was in her room now lying on her bed resting while Felicity watched the cameras from the side of the room and also watching Ruby. 

Richard knocked at the door with his knuckle "Hey" He said entering the room and sitting on the bed next to Ruby.

"I will leave you two to talk, I need food anyway" Felicity said getting up and walking out.

"How are you?"  Richard asked her taking her hand in his.

"Better, I will be up and about in no time" Ruby replied with a smile.

"Don't move to fast, Pace yourself" Richard told her.

"I'll be fine, But I want to ask you something, Is Wally okay? He hasn't came to visit me in days" Ruby asked concerned. She always saw Wally as a brother figure and worried about him just as she worried about Max.

Richard sighed. "I don't know, He's been very distant, Spending most of his time out at the graves.." He told her. 

Ruby sighed "I should go see him" She said sitting up. 

"Hey, You need to rest" Richard told her concerned.

"I need to see my friend" Ruby replied.

"I'll bring him here" Richard told her.

"Thank you" She said and He kissed her forehead and he left to find Wally.

The Ginger boy pressed a cold wet cloth onto Ruby's burns. "You won't be doing any more cat walking for today.." He told her.

She looked at his eye that was now a purple blue colour after being punched. "I'm fine, You're not" Ruby replied. 

The Boy shook his head "I'm not in the public eye it's fine.." He told her.

She pulled her leg away "I won't let you help me until you sort your eye out.." She said.

"Fine.." He groaned.

Ruby smiled and took the cloth off of him and put it on the bruise above his eye. He gave a small smile to her and Ruby smiled back.

Richard returned but he didn't have Wally but he had his hands behind his back. Ruby frowned "Where's Wally?" She asked.

Richard smiled as he walked over "There was something else I wanted to give you"  He told her sitting on the edge of her bed. Ruby sat up looking at him confused.

He pulled out a small black ring box. "Now I know we are only nineteen well I'm Twenty-one but anyway you nearly died the other day-" He opened the box to reveal a gold band with a small diamond almost untouched by the destruction of the outside. " But I couldn't handle losing you and I just want to know that when one of us goes... We will know the love we share for each other is true.." He said.

Ruby was crying her hand over her mouth in shock.

"Will you Ruby Marie Queen marry me?" Richard asked.

"Of course you big dummy" Ruby said hugging him with joy.

Outside the room Wally stood outside the door his hand hovering over the door handle. He had just heard everything Richard had said. He had never felt this pain. His eyes were watery and his mouth was dry. He could barely form words. He turned from the door to walk but met with Felicity. She looked at him "You loved her didn't you? I've seen that look before.." Felicity said looking at him.

Wally didn't reply he just walked past upset.

The ginger boy put the cloth away after their wounds were seen too. "Thanks.." He said to Ruby.

"For what?" Ruby replied with a smile.

"Being kind, No one really ever has been kind to me except my step-dad" He replied.

"What was your step-fathers name?" Ruby asked.

"Barry Allen, Stupid name I know but mines is worse Wally West..." He replied.

"I don't think it's stupid I could call you Lightning though..." Ruby said smiling.

Wally looked over returning the smile "Why Lightning?"

"You were so quick to save me.." Ruby said.

"I would like to stay longer but I gotta go..." Wally said.

Ruby nodded and Wally walked out the room to have his arm grabbed by Luna. "Smitten, Eh?" She said with a smirk.

Wally saw her dress was half on if it wasn't for one strap it would be off. "Shut up Luna... Just being Polite.."

Luna's smile faded "Well her smile will go, Like most of the girls around here, They are all so dreary..." Luna said and sighs.

"Most of them are raped unlike you, You just come and go as you please usually to see boss guy" Wally hissed.

Luna growled "Rape is a strong word Wally, If he heard you saying that, You may get more than a black eye." Luna then entered the room with Ruby who greeted her with a smile. Wally walked away and began to clean up the club the day finished and a new one on the rise.

Luna after a boring talk with Ruby left the club and walked into the alleyway for a cigarette. She was joined by a girl with black curly hair, a black Gothic dress, lace up tights, black dolly shoes and a sliver necklace with a red pendant. 

"How's the Queen girl settling in?" The woman asked Luna.

"The brat had her leg burnt... How's the rescue mission with her brother going?" Luna asked.

Milla smirked "Slowly as I planned, Once Ruby has felt sorrow I will place some evidence in their path... I told Oliver he would suffer for not telling me the truth and why not better suffering to know his daughter is suffering.." The woman said.

"How about the girl? You know Ruby's mother.." Luna asked.

"She is phase three, Phase one is Ruby's suffering, Phase two is..." The woman began looking at Luna.

"Giving Ruby happiness and then snatching it away from her... I know but what's phase three Milla?" Luna asked.

Milla smirked " I torture the poor Innocent blonde girl in front of Oliver and If he still refuses to tell me... I will kill her..." 

Luna smirked "You're so cruel sis' "

Milla laughed "We are as bad as each other Sister" She said smiling.
