Chapter Seven: Flashback

See the flashbacks similar how to the show does it. There's a few scenes then a flashback to Oliver on the island this is almost the same thing. A sneaky update out of schedule.

Ruby awoke in a smoke filled room. It seemed like a room in a club. She could hear music being played loudly and the room was full of bright colours. Such as bright purple curtains where the door should be, Bright pink cushions on a yellow couch and a small purple fake chandelier was on the ceiling. 

She put her hands to her head which ached. She sat up and noticed her hair was all fixed nicely. It had waves and was out of it's usually ponytail. She saw a dress laid on the white couch she was sitting on. It was blue with no straps and was quite short. There were white heels on the floor with straps. 

She looked up when a woman entered the room via the curtain. "Oh, Your awake Miss..." The girl spat going towards the mirror on the wall and taking a clip out her hair and dropping it to the floor letting her hair flow down.

"No way are you going to get anyone to pay you dressed like that, Hurry and get dressed" The girl said looking at her. The girl had black hair and snow white skin. Her lips were painted with a red lipstick and her eyes were outlined with thick black eye liner. She seemed maybe a year older than Ruby.

Ruby looked over at the dress her face blank of emotion. "Newbies are always so annoying, I will brief you on what happened, Most girls here were street girls mostly orphans, Then Mr Lucas scooped us up, Without our consent and we live this life now, We go out there strut our stuff and the sixteens and over do a little more..." She said looking at her.

"What if I don't do it?" Ruby asked.

"You get killed.. So, Do it kid, There's a worse life out there than this" She said. Ruby was scared her hands shaking.

The girl walked over to her putting her hands on Ruby's. "It's okay Hun' Just follow my lead" She told her standing up smoothing her red strapless dress out. It was long but had a slit at the bottom showing one of her legs.

"I'm Ruby..." She introduced. 

The girl smiled looking at her "I'm Luna..." She said. "Hurry up and change" She said leaving the room.

Ruby slowly changed into the almost alien clothes to her and stepped outside the room. It was a backstage area and it lead to a runway type thing. There was two runways and three or four girls were on it. Two of which looked about fourteen. They were all in dresses and were dancing vulgarly. The oldest there which looked around in her twenties stepped off the stage and grabbed a fat business man by the tie and lead him away. 

"It's okay, You won't have to do that your under sixteen, If any guy touches you just yell red and one of Mr.Lucas's guards will come and get them away" Luna told her approaching her. 

Ruby nodded slightly as the three remaining girls came back. "Alright next six" A guy said standing in the backstage area. He was a year older than Ruby and had well groomed ginger hair, a slight stubble on his chin and green eyes.

"Amelia, Katie, Luna, Nora, Mary and Ruby" He called out. Luna began to walk onto the runway and Ruby followed. Four other girls joined them. They all began to dance slowly so Ruby copied. The room was smoke filled and she had to hold her breathe. She could smell alcohol and she could see the outlines of many men sitting watching. 

She felt dirty dancing for them. She hated it.

She then felt someone grab her leg. It was a a thirty something business man with a cigar in hand. He pulled her down and she fell on the runway. She had forgotten everything Luna had said and just wanted him to let her go.

"Show us a bit more lady..." He breathed. Ruby struggled in his grip. Luna noticed and shouted "Red."

The man burned her leg with his cigar and suddenly he was pushed away by the boy she had seen earlier with the ginger hair. He wasn't strong enough to fight him away. "You little brat!?" He growled pushing the boy over.

The boy just got back up "Leave the girl alone, You know there's rules!" He yelled as the man punched the boy in the eye. 

"Oh my god!" Ruby said going to the boys side.

"Hey... Xavier why don't we go somewhere for you to cool down? Hmm?" Luna said approaching him trailing her finger on his shirt wrapped chest. 

The man looked at Ruby and the boy then back at Luna who grabbed his hand softly leading him away. The boy looked at Ruby "Let me fix that leg for you" He said shakily standing up and helping her up.

"Your eye..." Ruby said not putting pressure on her foot.

"I'll be fine" He said putting an arm around her shoulders and helping her walk backstage.

Ruby whimpered in her passed out state. Oliver noticed. He had stayed in the room for a few hours Felicity his loyal friend stayed with him. She fell asleep on the empty chair in there. "Luna..." Ruby whimpered. Oliver walked over.

"Max!" He yelled. Felicity awoke at his shout and looked over.

"Oliver? What is it?" Felicity said getting up.

Ruby opened her eyes her face first showed confusion but she then realized. "I thought I was dead meat..." She groaned turning her head to see her brother, Wally and Richard enter the room.

"Ruby..." Wally said in an almost whisper his smile appearing. 

Richard ran to her smiling, it was clear he had been crying. "Hey you..." Ruby said her weak hand reaching out to him and he held it. 

"Hey" He said.

"Max... You fixed me up good..." Ruby said as her brother came into view.

"I couldn't lose you" Max told her. 

"Is Wally okay?" Ruby asked not seeing him come over. Richard bit his lip standing out the way so Wally could see her.

"Hey, Blue.." Wally said. 

"You haven't called me that in years..." Ruby said breathing slowly.

"I just was re-living old memories" Wally said staring at her eyes. She smiled. He kissed her hand and backed away letting Richard see his girlfriend.

"How did you get out?" Ruby asked Oliver.

"Milla let us walk out for some reason.. She wanted to see if you made it" Oliver told her.

"I have a few choice words for her..." Ruby groaned. 

"You need to rest" Max said kissing her forehead. 

"Okay..." Ruby said sadly.

Richard kissed her lips and the group left her to sleep.
