Though we weren't a huge party, we're probably the biggest they've had in a while. We actually get pulled into an office where a registrar performs the ceremony for us. We sign everything and Arthit gets his knew identification card with my last name on it, thank you very much. He looks at and narrows his eyes at me. Yep, that was my doing. I see him smile though when he looks at it again.

I can't wait for him to change all of his paperwork at work. It makes me smile just thinking about it since I know how shy he is. I wish I could be there when he officially changes his last name, puts me down for his emergency contact, and changes his home address. I can see his cheeks pinking up as he fills it out and how he would look down as he passed the paperwork to personnel. Damn I wish I could be there! Maybe I can ask P'Dan to video him when he does it.

We head to a nice restaurant to celebrate. They opened and hour early for us. It helps that the Baramees own this place. P'Arthit's parents don't seem out of place at all. They're speaking with the Baramees happily and I love it. Finally the food is served and we start our lunch.

"Kong dear, your parents couldn't make it?" P'Arthit's mom asks.

"No mae, they, um.."

"You know why they aren't here mae. Why are you bringing it up?" Pii asks.

"She knows?" I ask.

"Of course she knows. How else would I explain the sudden fall into depression or the fact that I wouldn't get out of bed for over a month." He says candidly.

"Oon. I didn't know." I say grabbing his hand.

"Obviously you didn't know. You would never have let me leave you and I was stupid enough to think I was doing what was best for you." He says softly.

"This from the boy who yells at the Lakorn characters who leave their families because they're dying or are in trouble." His mom teases.

"Yeah well now I know what they were going through and I think they're even stupider!" He complains.

"What I meant was that I thought maybe they had accepted you two since you got married." She explains her earlier comment.

"Ah, no. We got permission from the Baramees." I tell her.

"That explains why they're here." She says.

"Do you know each other?" I ask and now P'Arthit and I are looking at them.

"Yes, I know Senior. I went to school with their daughter Hathai. We were good friends. Her son Beam is a year older than you Oon dear." She says.

"Wow, what a small world." I whisper.

"So I hear you're a lawyer nong." P'Knott says.

"Yes Pii. I mostly do business law but I am also certified as a defense attorney." I explain.

"Oh so when we murder the guy who killed Toota you can defend us?" P'Prem says without a bit of sarcasm.

"Yes Pii. Does that mean they haven't found the murderer?" I ask.

"Oh they found him and he's in jail. But he only has to do five years. Five years for killing our friend!" He says angrily banging his fist on the table.

"Maybe we can have him retried and get him a longer sentence." I offer to see where their thoughts lie.

"But he'd still be alive wouldn't he nong? While our sweet Toota who was beaten to death is gone! No nong, he needs to die." P'Prem says trying to fight back the tears.
