This will be dedicated to Alice. She also read my story today and loved it! She told me to make it funny so I hope this chapter makes her happy!

Chapter 4:  Freeze Fest

Casey runs off and away from the three men around me. She knows I can handle myself, even if one is half fire element.

“You shouldn’t have done that.” He growls in my ear while keeping a firm hand over my mouth and his other hand securely wrapped around my waist. “But now I know what you are. You are a water element. Am I right Miss Barker?” He spins me round to face his piercing blue eyes and removing his hand over my mouth in the process.

“Well you are half right. I’m a hybrid just like you Seth Blackthorn. You happen to be a fire element. It proves how you managed to unfreeze yourself so fast.” I growl back at him.

He looks taken aback, from my tone or my statement I don’t know. His eyes narrow. “You seem to figure me out faster than I can figure you out. How about we cut all this fighting and just say what we are?” He eyes me carefully before adding “I’ll start. I am half fire element like you said. And half demon.” He growls out the last part adding a flash of red in his deep blue eyes.

My eyes widen with shock. I refuse to tell him what I am instead I struggle. He blocked me from being able to knee him where it hurts most again but that still doesn’t stop me from still aiming there. I freeze it instead of kicking it. He doubles over not expecting that and I make a bolt for it.

Fairy tries to stop me first but I dodge him and freeze him on my way past. Next is vamp. He is super quick like they all are but I have trained with Amy a few times so I know what I am doing. I block all of his blows easily and slowly but surely freeze his flesh since his blood isn’t exactly living or moving.

Three down and off I go!

The minute I get home I go through the regular full moon lockdown, even though it isn’t a full moon. I’m soon in the dark and all alone. I don’t mind, I’m used to it.

I light all the candles tripping over the coffee table in the process. I got the candles from a witch, so they never burned down fully, heck they didn’t even loose at least a drop of wax!

Right I forgot about witches. Yes they exist along with wizards, warlocks, sorcerers and sorceresses. They can all cast spells and the like. Each is different from the other but you can hardly tell and it doesn’t matter if you know what they are or not. It’s just best to stay away from them. I know, I know, I got candles from a witch, but this witch has her own website and I didn’t even meet her!

I can now remember a few more things about paranormals. There is the unicorn. Now they can be pretty hard to figure out. Basically they are what everyone believes them to be. There are also kelpies. Horrible things. Stay away from kelpies! Unicorns are fine, it’s the kelpies you got to worry about.

Oh and about vampires, they can’t walk in the sun. The only reason why Amy can is because she has a smidgen of fey in her blood. She was born that way and once you are a fey you stay a fey. Seth’s ‘friend’ the vampire can walk in the sun because he is a hybrid also. Half vampire, half werewolf. They are not as common as many others but you still see them around.

Enough about paranormals it’s giving me a headache. Gosh! Why does this world have to be so complicated! Every single time I think about paranormals and every species there is I get a headache since there are so many!  Add Seth to the mix and I have a raging migraine!

I scream out loud in frustration and freeze anything and everything in sight as I stalk towards the couch and collapse onto it.

The bowl of water on the table starts shaking as my anger escalates. The water explodes and freezes in mid air, then falls to the ground and smashes into a million pieces.

I bury myself in my red velvet blanket and try to calm my mind down. My mind was like a raging river, but I wanted it to be a calm stream. I take deep slow breathes.

Eventually I’m left with just a migraine, no raging thoughts about Seth. Damn! I just thought about him!

Knocking on my door sends me bolt upright and leaping for my stainless steel bat in the corner of the room. Yes I should probably have a silver bat covered in garlic for protection, but do you know how expensive they are!?

I slowly inch my way towards the door.

“Ash, it’s just me Casey. I came to see if you were alright and put that damned bat down, I will not hurt you!” A voice said from outside.

Only one person in the world knows I have a bat in my hand when I inch towards something, and only one person can sense me with their heightened senses.

I throw the door open and toss the bat aside. “Case!” I squeal in a mega girly voice. I squeeze her super hard and she squeezes back harder.

“Can’t....Breathe!” I choke out and she immediately releases me then gives me a good looking over to see if I’m okay. I laugh. “I’m fine Case! Seth and his goons didn’t hurt me. I hurt them with my freezing techniques” I said with a wink.

She laughs her joyous laugh then drags me inside shutting all the locks behind us.

“Now spill! I want to know every single detail!” She squeals with delight.

I sigh. There is no one quite like Casey.
