Chapter 8: Is This Love?

  I was in shock for the second time today. However this time Casey wasn’t here to help me, hell I was alone!

  Eventually curiosity got the best of me. I just had to know what this attraction between us was. I hopped over to my laptop and turned it on. I went straight onto The World Wide Web for Paranormals. Yes we have our own internet.

  I didn’t know what to type in. I stared at the screen wondering what to search up. Then I remembered something. Casey said that werewolves have mates. They have a special attraction to their mates. They love them with all their hearts and they can’t bear to be without them. Is it just with werewolves?

  I search up Can angels and demons have mates?

  I found a good site immediately.

  It read: Angels and demons do have mates just like werewolves, except they are called soul mates and the attraction is slightly stronger.

  You can tell when and an angel or a demon has found their soul mate when:

1)    They long to be near that person.

2)    They can hardly bear to be away from the other for too long.

3)    They have a very heated relationship.

4)    They bring out the best in the other and can understand them better than anyone else.

5)    When they kiss sparks fly.

  Well tick all of those because that is exactly how I feel towards Seth Blackthorn. Although number 4 is arguable. We don’t really bring out the best in each other; then again we barely know each other!

  That is it! Ashley Barker has it bad for Seth Blackthorn! I am even considering going on a few dates with him to get to know him better and to melt against his lips again and again and again.......

  I screamed. This cannot be happening! My soul mate is a demon! He also happens to be a fire element! Completely opposite to me! But Casey did say opposites attract.

  I sigh. This is so frustrating! My eyes catch sight of the phone. Should I tell him? I don’t even know his number! I don’t care! I need to hear his voice one last time! For fear of dieing from not hearing his voice again I searched up his phone number before hastily dialling it.

  “Hello?” A female voice answered.

  “Uhhh hi. Is this Seth Blackthorn’s number?” I smack my forehead. What am I doing?

  “Yeah. He’s just in his room. Who is this calling may I ask?”

  I freeze. Oh god! “This is Ashley Barker. I’m his science partner. We’re working on a science project together.” I sound like a nervous little girl!

 I twirl my hair around in my fingers, continuously questioning my sanity.

  “Okay. I’ll just put him on.” Silence for a few seconds but it feels like hours.

  “Hello?” His voice is soft, hot and dreamy all in one. No wonder I froze at the tone of his voice. I think it was hope?

  “Uhhh...” I struggle to find words “Hi.” I smack my forehead again. I am such an idiot.

  “Ash?” He says a little too excitedly.

  “Yeah...”

  “I was going to call you but I didn’t know your number.”
