The Stolen Stone

So, I and Ned left the canteen and went to our room.  Bess and George were sitting in the canteen.

Ned's POV...

"By the way what should I do?" I asked her stupidly.

"Take out the paper which I gave you Ned. " She told me seriously and I did what she said.

"Oh ya. Got it." And then I started reading...

"The stone neither floats nor sinks in the water. It just remains in the centre of the water." I read out.

"Ok then let us do it then." She said.

"Ohk."

"Nancy just go and bring the water pls." I said her with a smirk.

"Why me? You go." She said resting her hands on her chest.

"I am doing this clue right and you are here to help me Miss Nancy." I told her resting my hands on my chest as her.

"Ok sir." She said making us laugh.

And then we took the stone and just threw the stone in the water and just waited for something to happen. But the stone remained on the bottom of the bucket instead of staying in the centre of water.

"Ned I said you that it's the duplicate one." She said happily.

"But the first clue shows us that the stone is real. So..." I said.

"Yeah what ever..  but I know that it's the fake stone." She said confidently.

"But I think it's the real one." I said to make her irritate.

"Ok then... Bet?" She asked me keeping her hand forward.

I like to irritate her a lot and so I accepted the bet.

"Bet accepted." I replied her keeping my palm on top of hers.

After this, we both went out to meet Bess and George.

"Hey.. done. It's the fake one. " I said giving a look to ned.

"Ok then.. now it's my turn." George said very excited.

George's POV...

I read out my paper..

"The stone shines only when it is kept under sunlight."

"Ok.. that means you have to keep the stone under the sunlight." Bess said.

"Yup.. let's go out." I said.

"Out where? The people might see us with the stone. " Bess told.

"Don't worry, no one will see." I assured her.

"As you say."

We went out with the stone kept in my bag. But then someone called me.

"Hey George." Aaron called.

"Hey hi Aaron. You here? " I asked nervously.

"Ahh.. yah. It's my hotel, so I think i should be here in the hotel." He told smiling.

"Oh.. ya sorry. I didn't know what I was speaking." I said embarrassed.

"Where are you both going?" He asked.

"Just a walk." Bess replied.

"Oh.. you both are taking a walk near a swimming pool? I mean there is no much space for a walk, there is water everywhere." He said and I'm sure he is thinking that why I'm acting weird.
