Month 2, Day 11

Viridian Fairburn was... interesting.

They didn't have an identified gender, nor did they have any sort of knack for communicating with other people. Heck, they were worse than him at being social- but at least Viridian had a reason to be. They were quiet, and only gave one-word answers. He also noticed that they had difficulty trying to ask questions about their job, which frustrated Cobalt to some degree because it forced him to try and figure out what it was that they wanted to ask.

It was a miracle that they even managed to get past the interrogation yesterday.

Today though, since he was going to show them the ropes and basics of their job, he was going to use the shift that was meant for taking care of the Melapetals. They were punctual at least, because they were right outside the greenhouse before the shift even started. They meekly told him that they've been there ten minutes early, and he figured that they were just afraid of missing their first shift. He shrugged it off, and opened the door to the greenhouse.

"Alright, well... try not to be too startled when we go inside... these aren't exactly your normal plants." He warned them before opening the door. Sure enough, when the door made a slight creaking sound, the Melapetals tackled him down and started chirping to get his attention.

"Oh my goodness- calm down, everybody! We have a new person here today, I thought I told you all yesterday to try and take it slow!" Cobalt cried from underneath the pile of Melapetals, gently but sternly trying to push them all off. He was already dreading the new guy's reaction, when he heard the distinct sound of giggling and cooing beside him. His eyes snapped open when he realized that the other Melapetals could be attracted to the new guy as well and turned his head... only to be greeted by the sight of a floored Viridian with Melapetals flocking around them.

He didn't think that the Melapetals could become attached to someone that easily and quickly- in fact, he'd daresay that it was impossible. But here it was happening right before him- the person in question clearly having the time of their life, hugging the Melapetals and gushing about how cute they were. Subconsciously, he thought that it was adorable.

He briefly wondered if they were lying about not being a girl yesterday.
