Month 4, Day 25
While today was comparatively tame compared to most, he still came out of it pretty shaken.
There was nothing particularly interesting going on in the shop. Cider was off cleaning some of the terrariums, Scarlet as sitting down behind the cashier reading some romance novel, and Amber was outside somewhere- talking to some of her next-door friends, he figured. Viridian was just inside the greenhouse, studying the Melapetals.
Cobalt was inside his office, trying to come up of a way to productively use his free time. There wasn't anything new to learn in school, and he's already read ahead for his lessons, the paperwork was all done- he's put himself in a state of unforgivable boredom.
Just as he was about to come up with something, Miss Eden suddenly bursts into the room, holding a thick book in her hands. The door opened so suddenly that he jumped in his chair- nearly toppling over.
"Cobalt dear, are you busy~?" Her sing-song voice snapped him out of his shock, and he turns at her with annoyed expression on his face. Before he could even respond, she pushes the book in front of his face. "That's great- because I want you to start reading this book!"
"What is this?" He asked, taking the book in his hands.
"It's a prototype guidebook for the customers, just in case~!" She replies, clearly looking proud of herself for putting it together. "I was just looking underneath all of the notes the Keeper left behind, and found some great things that our customers should know! I found additional information about their behaviors and all that good stuff!"
"Right and... what are you giving me this for?" He stared at the book, impressed by how thick it was.
"I'd like you to read it and edit it! This guidebook is going to be very important for our clients, so it's best that we make thorough checks and all that." She replies, but before he could ask any more questions, she was already heading towards the door. "Oh right- you should go and ask Viridian to help you! They've been studying the Melapetals for a while now, so I think they'd be a great help!"
The door was shut, and the deed was done. Cobalt sighed- there wasn't any going back now.
He got off his chair, and made his way into the greenhouse. He figured that he would also ask Scarlet to help them after they were done with this just to make sure there weren't any grammatical errors left. Cobalt suddenly got a weird nagging feeling at the back of his head- this was going to be a difficult time for the both of them if two months ago was any indication. He's barely spoken to them over the past few months, so this was going to be a bit hard.
To his surprise though, they agreed almost immediately. He was too slow to react when they grabbed the book from him and started flipping through it with an excited twinkle in their eyes.
Again- it was all too sudden for him to process what was happening. He didn't mind though, it was rare for them to be excited around other people, and quite frankly it was adorable.
Cobalt didn't notice the faint glowing of the roses in the back.
