We fall in love with people we can't have.

WE PULLED AWAY, his hand still cupping my face, and we stared at each other for a moment longer. I averted my gaze to the Cup that had fallen to the ground, snapping out of whatever daze I was in before, and thought bitterly of how we had to bring it to Uma. I leant to my left and grabbed it. I looked over the intricate design on it and traced it with my fingers for a short moment. I diverted my gaze from the Cup and looked at Hook.

"Guess we gotta bring this back to your boss." I told him coldly, acting as if nothing had happened. I knew that that kiss would be a one-time thing. He had his captain to listen to and I had to save a friend from a bunch of idiotic pirates, including him. Whatever this was couldn't go any further and we both knew it. Or so I thought. I stood up, having regained my energy enough to do so, and dusted off my pants.

"So that's it?" Hook inquired incredulously. I turned around while he got up from the ground as well. "You're just gonna pretend that none of that just happened?!" He nearly yelled. He clenched his jaw and glared down at me. I glared right back at him.

"Of course, I am!" I yelled back, frustrated by how he was acting.

"Why?!" I just glared at him but that wasn't what Hook wanted so he pressed further. "Huh?"

"Because this, whatever this is between us, it can't go any further, I won't let it!" I finally yelled back. I took a breath and closed my eyes for a second before looking him right in the eye and elaborating with a strong voice, "In case you've forgotten, your so-called friend is holding my friend captive and you are helping her. You and the whole pirate crew of Uma may call me a traitor but that's one thing I am not." After I finished, I turned on my heel to walk away but Hook wasn't done yet. He grabbed my wrist causing my head to turn back at him with a glare.

"Let. Go," I growled, lighting up my hair. Startled, he loosened his grip enough for me to pull my arm away, which caused him to snap out of it.

"Well, what am I supposed to do, huh? She's my captain. I'm not a traitor either." He reasoned but he wasn't going to change my mind. I turned my body to face him fully.

"Well, you can either grow a pair and tell your captain that she's acting like a brat because of something that happened when we were kids and tell her to let my friend go or like I said, nothing's gonna happen between us. You said it yourself, neither of us are traitors, that also means you don't go kissing the enemy of your friends." I retorted.

"That's not fair and you know it." He argued. I took a step back and shrugged my shoulders.

"Did no one ever tell you, Hook? Life isn't fair." I hissed the last part at him. "Now let's give this to your captain and I'll be off."

"Fine." He grumbled. I held out my right arm for him to grab while I held the Cup in my left hand. Hook grabbed onto my arm and with a cloud of grey smoke, we were back on the Isle. Uma's ship laying quietly in front of us and the salty smell of the sea reached my nose while I listened to the waves colliding with the ship and the pier.

Meanwhile, Hook was admiring the inside of a bucket as he stood hunched over, emptying the contents of his stomach into it. I chuckled and rolled my eyes. I put my thumb and index finger in my mouth and whistled loudly before I started walking over the wooden bridge again onto the ship. I saw Ben still bound to the pole only this time he was in a sitting position. I probably just woke him up with my whistle seeing how his eyes were still sleepy and there was some drool on his chin. Ben locked eyes with me and his eyes lit up, immediately looking me over to see if I was okay. I gave him a nod, which didn't seem to ease his worry before my attention focused on my left where I heard a door open. Uma came through the door and smirked when she saw me with the Cup. She noticed her right-hand man missing.
