The smaller boy stormed out of Richie's room and didn't look back. Richie felt warm tears stream down his cheeks. He was shaking. Richie the trashmouth had fucked up, as he always did.
"Eddie!" he sobbed. He pulled himself off the bed and rushed down the stairs to find his maybe-boyfriend opening the door.
Two furious brown eyes, shining with tears, whipped around and burned into Richie's heart. The little, innocent asthmatic glared for a long moment, then whispered, "I thought you liked me."
"I do, Eds!"
"Don't call me that, Richie!" Eddie walked out, slamming the door behind him. And just like that, he was gone.

In the end Richie did explain everything, and once Eddie was sworn to secrecy, he searched up how he felt and discovered a word that fit as if it had been waiting for him forever: arosexual. He liked Bill sexually and Eddie romantically, and it was just an obnoxious coincidence that he liked them at the same time. He cared for Eddie so much; it swelled in his heart until he was sure it would break — not because it was injured, but because it would grow so big his chest couldn't hold it.
