When love strikes [ Keith x reader ]

"You six paladins were brought here for a reason, the voltron lions were meant to be piloted by you and you alone, we must fight and keep fighting until we defeat Zarkon it is our destiny, voltron is the universes only hope, we are the universes only hope" Allura said with dignity "we are with you princess" Shiro said sternly.

You were brought to another room where you saw six suits of armour that matched the colour of the lions, "since there isn't a sixth lion we found  a sixth suit of armour for Y/N" Coran said looking at you. You looked at your armour, it was white and purple "boys and girl it's time to suit up" Shiro said proudly as you all started putting your armour on, Hunk was surprised that his armour fit because he was a bit bigger then all of us. "The bayard is the traditional weapon of the paladins of voltron, it takes a distinct shape for each paladin" Allura said while you noticed there was only five bayards. Hunks bayard was a very large gun and Lance's was a blaster, Pidge had a sharp shooter and Keith had a sword. You grabbed your bayard and it turned into a very sharpe dagger, Keith looked impressed when they saw your dagger but they were mostly playing around with their bayards. "Shiro I'm afraid you bayard was lost with its paladin" Allura said looking at shiro sadly "I guess I'll just have to make do" Shiro said trying to stay positive.

"You'll have to retrieve the red lion from Zendaks ship" Allura said staring at you all "that's a pretty big ship, how are we gonna know where the red lion is" Keith sad trying not to worry "Well it's not a matter of we it's a matter of you" Pidge said looking at While Hunk agreed "Pidge is right, once we get you in you'll be able to feel its presence and track it done", "yea you know how you felt that crazy energy while we were in the desert" Lance said looking at Keith, "you made fun of him for that" you said crossing you arms "and I'm proud of that, but turns out it's exactly like that mumbo jumbo". "Keith remember the red lion is extremely temperamenta, you'll have to earn its respect" Allura said staring at Keith.

"Alright here's our plan of attack" Shiro said look at all of us "the gulra empire knows about the blue and yellow lion but they don't know we have he green lion too, Hunk Lance you'll act as a decoy pretending to give yourselves up, while Zendak is distracted Keith Pidge Y/N and I will sneak onto the ship in the green lion Keith and I will find the red lion while Pidge and Y/N guard our exit. Hunk Lance find someway to take down that ion canon".

"Pidge what's your ETA" Lance said in his lion "we're in" Pidge whispered as the four of you dropped onto the floor. You and Pidge had your bayards out ready to attack, you were following behind Shiro and Keith trying to find he red lion. Shiro started having a flashback of what happened to him in the ship "I've been here before, after I was taken by the gulra cruiser off of Kerberos they brought us here" Shiro said looking down the hallways of the ship "so that means your other crew members they might be held captive here, we we gotta rescue them" Pidge said looking at shiro "Pidge we don't have time, we have to get the red lion and get back to Arus" Shiro replied, "but we can't just leave prisoners here" Pidge said trying to stay calm "look no one understands hat more then me but in war we have to make hard choices" Shiro says trying to reason with Pidge, "now let's get moving". "No" Pidge yells looking at Shiro "commander holt is my father, he and my brother were the ones on the Kerberos mission with you"! "Commander Holt is your father" Shiro questions as me and Keith are waiting impatiently to keep moving "yes, I've been searching everywhere for him and my brother and I'm not gonna give up when I'm this close, I won't" Pidge said turning around facing the other direction "I'm coming with you" Shiro says making Keith looked shocked "I'm remember where the prisoners are held, Keith you and Y/N go find the red lion", "by ourselves" you both yell looking at Shiro "minor change of plans it'll be fine just remember patience yields focus so run" Shiro said quickly and Keith grabbed your arm and ran towards the end of the hall away from Shiro and Pidge.

You make your way to the end of the hall where there are two ways to go "great" you say sarcastically as you hear footsteps from behind you Keith and you quickly run done a random hallway making your way to another two hallways where Keith starts getting frustrated "Keith calm down remember patience yields focus" on say with your hand on his shoulder "patience yields focus he repeats quietly while closing he eyes he then turns around while grabbing your hand and says "I know where the lion is. You start running through hallways trying to stay away from gulra and make your way to the lion. When you finally find where the lion is Keith runs up to it and puts his hand on the force field while you keep watch "let's get out of here open up" Keith says to the lion "it's me Keith your buddy". Keith starts getting frustrated "it's me! Keith! I am your paladin"! He yells as a whole inch of gulra start shooting you both from behind, you both put your shields up and get your bayards out and ready "keep trying to get the lion I'll hold them off" you say as you start running towards the gulra. You quickly kill most of the gulra but some are still firing. Keith looks at the control panel and hits a button that opens a door that sends the gulra flying into space,  three gulra quickly shoot you in the side the back and the leg, you scream as you fall to the ground "Y/N"! You hear Keith yell as you fly out of the ship. Your bleeding out but you can't move your just screaming in pain, you can barely talk as you hear everyone trying to talk to you to see if your ok "Y/N are you ok"! Lance yells trying to get you to respond "if you think bleeding out of your back your leg and your side is ok then sure" you say in a raspy voice trying to stay awake. "Y/N where are you"! Keith yells, you can tell he's worrying "just floating out in space" you reply, you scream as you move your arm you stop the blood coming out of your side you quickly see an illusion of a purple lion that looking exactly the same as all the others you think your imaging when it comes up to you and looks at you ldead in the eye, at that point you knew it was real. The lion quickly disappeared as you see Keith in the red lion scooping you up as your floating in space. "I got Y/N" you hear Keith tell the other as he takes of your helmet so he can see your face "Y/N talk to me, are you ok". Keith says as he starts taking off your armour. You scream as if you were just murdered when Keith took your armour off of you. He quickly picked you up and sits in the chair while he puts you on his lap, you started getting tired as you start closing your eyes "hey don't fall asleep, you gotta stay with me. Don't close your eyes you gotta stay awake" you hear Keith say as you hear him panicking not knowing what to do.

You get back to the castle where the black lion gets freed as soon as the lions were all standing in front of it, Keith ran out of his lion carrying you where you were bleeding out. Everyone got out of there lions to help you Allura and Coran ran to where everyone was so they could help too "what happened"! Lance yelled glaring at Keith as Shiro lifted you off of the floor "this is no time to argue we have to help Y/N now" Shiro says Lance rips off pieces of his shirt to wrap up the wounds. You looked at Keith to see that he was drenched it blood as well as the floor, You could tell that everyone was scared especially Keith and Lance, Keith was in tears watching shiro carry you to a safe spot where Allura and Coran could help you. You almost close your eyes after you hear an alarm go off to see a gulra ship and you knew something bad was gonna happen you tried standing up wanting to help but Allura and Coran laid you back down you. The last three words you heard Keith say before you pass out were "Y/N, I love you" and then everything went black except for one purple light that looks like the head of a purple lion.
