Mother's necklace

I woke up to Nik walking in with a food tray and a straight face.

"What are you doing?" I asked sitting up and watching him walk over to me.

"I just thought you should take it easy and eat breakfast in bed before we go for a lovely walk through the woods." Nik answered.

"Okay this doesn't have anything to do with you invading my mind while I was asleep last night does it?" I asked staring at the food he made. 

"No, can I just do something nice for my wonderful wife?" Nik asked sarcastically.

"You could, but you normally don't so what's wrong?" I asked cutting into a piece of french toast.

"Nothing's wrong." Nik said.

"Niklaus what's wrong?" I asked again.

"Nothing is wrong my love. You are just paranoid." Nik said before tilting my head up and pecking my lips.

"Well we are connected and have been for years so I must have gotten it from you." I sassed causing him to roll his eyes as he walked out of the room. "Where's Azalea?" I asked causing him to stop at the door.

"She's with Rebekah for the week so we can have alone time." Nik answered before continuing on his way.

Nik and I where walking hand and hand threw the woods because I don't know, why not walk hand in hand with your spouse. I smiled at the ground rubbing my stomach until a chuckle was heard.

"What are you smiling about?" Nik chuckled causing me to look at him.

"Do you want to know when I first realized I liked you?" I asked still smiling.

"Yes do tell." Nik said staring at me.

"Remember when you caught me from falling out of my weeping willow tree?" I asked and he nodded with a small smile formed on his lips. "The cheesy pick up line you used, after that and I started walking off that is when I figured I had a crush on you." I answered.

"That was a really bad pick up line." Nik chuckled.

"It was." I giggled. "Why did you say it?" I asked.

"I don't know all I remember is that I needed to make you smile. I didn't expect you to laugh like that." Nik answered smiling at me. 

"Well I'm sorry cheesy jokes and terrible puns make me laugh." I sassed. 

"Well now I know what to do when you're made at me." Nik hummed before kissing me.

"I guess you do." I hummed backing up.

"Come on we have a walk to finish." Nik hummed before kissing the top of my head.

"Mhm." I hummed before we continued to walk.

We got home after our walk to see Henrik sitting inside with a box.

"Hey Henrik. What are you doing?" I asked as Nik closed the door.

"I have that thing that I said I got you at the dinner a few nights ago." He answered walking over to me.

"Thanks." I said taking the box from him.

"Angel what is Henrik doing here?" Nik asked wrapping me in his arms.

"He wanted to give me the gift from the dinner." I answered before opening the box. A smile crossed my face and I looked at the necklace that I thought I lost in New Orleans when the witches killed me.
