Jamie sat in the driver's seat as she watched her mother's house. She had been sitting there in her Corolla for about twenty minutes. It was evident she was hella nervous for how today was going to go but she had faith that it would go ok.

"You ready for this ma?" Amber said as she sat in the passenger seat.

Jamie only nodded her head as she unclicked her seatbelt and opened the door. Amber followed suit and did the same thing.

Amber walked around towards Jamie and grabbed her hand in reassurance.

"Who is it?" said a very sweet voice from the other side of the front door.

"It's me mama." Jamie said softly but loud enough to be heard.

Not even a second later, the door pulled back and the girls came face to face with a very beautiful short light skin lady who favored Vanessa Williams came into view. Amber saw the resemblance between the two and she smiled as they hugged each other and rocked side to side.

"Ooh my baby!" Her mother exclaimed.

"Hi mommy." Jamie's son said as he walked to the door with a huge smile on his face.

Jamie stopped hugging her mom and ran to her son Josiah. Amber almost came to tears as she seen her girl in tears and the way the little boy's small arms wrapped around Jamie's neck.

"Hi, I'm Gina." Jamie's mom introduced herself.

"Hey, I'm Amber."

"Ma this the girl I told you about on the phone. My girlfriend Amber."

Of course Gina knew about her daughter being lesbian but she didn't mind. She loved her daughter regardless of her sexual orientation.

"Ooooh my goodness! You're so beautiful baby. Come on in y'all. I set up some finger foods."

Jamie held her son in her arms and held Amber's hand as they walked into the kitchen where food was indeed prepared.

Jamie just decided that it was finally time for her mother and her girlfriend to meet. Also she wanted to talk to her mom about taking Josiah for a few weeks so he could get accustomed to her and Amber.

"So what brings you by baby girl?" Gina asked.

"Well mommy I just wanted to ask you how would you feel if I took Jojo back with me for a few weeks? It's so hard for me to travel back and forth to see him."

Gina sighed and smiled.

"Yes, he's your son baby. I don't mind and I don't think he does either."

"That sound good to you Josiah? Going with mommy for a while?" Jamie asked.

"Yes!" He exclaimed happily making the women around him giggle.

"What's this?" Nyla asked as she checked her mail and seen a letter with her name across it.

She grabbed the mail and walked up the stairs to her apartment. She walked inside and took a seat on the couch, opening up the letter.

Dear Nyla,
Well I'm sure you know who this is from the handwriting but I just wanted to let you know what was going on. Well I guess I'll start from the beginning. When me and Monty broke up & I left I went back to the strip club. I know I know! I'm sorry. I know I said I would never go back but I had to do something to get my mind off Monty. During that time I reglected you and I didn't let you in on what I had going on.

Me and Dinero started to mess around. I took a quick ass liking to him because he kept me laced in the shit I was used to. He was a good ass man to me or so I thought he was. After about being together for a month he got me started on crack and he was knocking my ass out all the time. I was crazy because I could've left but I didn't.

He told me if I tried to leave he would kill anyone that meant something to me as well as killing me too. I got to the point where I grew addicted to the crack and all the other drugs that my physical appearance didn't mean shit to me unless I was working at the club.

Speaking of the club the day of the incident where you came to see me, that day I just needed to take the edge off and I did a little too much white girl. I overdosed and sadly Ny I wished I had died in that instant. I woke up in a hospital bed and I cried like hell. My makeup was off and the nurses saw all my bruises. It was one that helped me and told me I was pregnant and she told me about a rehab in Texas.

The day you came I was so happy but I couldn't be because Dinero was there and he thought I told you about the abuse and shit. I'm sorry for how I treated you that day Ny. I feel so bad. I miss you so much but I had to leave. I tried to escape him twice after I left the hospital and he found me both times and beat my ass. My hands were bruised and I had a few broke fingers from shielding my baby. I'm so so very blessed that God kept my baby with me.

I had to leave for my baby. I left and went to a rehab down in Texas. Hopefully he doesn't find me and I'm able to complete the rehab program. Maybe one day you can come down and visit me and I'll tell you whatever you want to know.

I miss you. I love you so much Nyla.

Tears were now streaming down Nyla's face as she couldn't believe her cousin went through this shit. Yeah Nyla sworn she was done with Kaylin once she chose Dinero over her that day at the hospital but once she read this letter she was completely heartbroken for her cousin.

She just hoped Kaylin was fine.
