"Hey." Nyla said to Tatum as he walked through the doors of her boutique.

She was surprised as fuck because he didn't say anything about stopping by when she dropped Kinlei to his apartment earlier this morning. Confusion was etched all over her face and shock was on Jamie's as she openly stared wondering what the fuck was going on.

"What's good?" Tay smiled at his wife like he wasn't in the wrong by showing up here.

Truthfully he had thought long and hard about his talk with Monty and he knew he had a lot of making up to do but first he would have to break the tough news to Nyla. You already guessed it, it has to do with Kilo psycho ass. Speaking of, Tatum always beat himself for even allowing back in his life.

The rain poured down the windows of the tattoo parlor as Tatum sat in his reclining chair that was positioned in the center of his office. He hated the rain with a passion. Every single time his mind always went back to his childhood for some odd reason. He didn't know why the rain was the only thing that made him get that feel but it did.

When he met Nyla and they formed a great enough relationship where she would spend the night with him, if it rained he slept like a baby with some great ass dreams too. It's like she was really meant to be in his life. He just couldn't do right by her for some reason. Don't get it wrong he was completely in love with her but he still had some growing up to do in being in an actual relationship and not just some bitch to fuck off on.

"Fuck this." He said as he stood to his feet and grabbed his phone and made sure he had his wallet.

After successfully locking up the parlor, he just decided to head down to the local bar for a minute. A few beers wouldn't do him any harm before he went home. Nyla would be sleeping heavy anyways like she always did when it rained. She was currently seven months pregnant.

"Lemme get a beer." He said to the bartender as he rubbed his hands down his waves and sighed.

He was really wishing this rain would stop. The vivid images of his mom's small but still heavy hands coming in contact with parts of his body gave him a weird feeling as if he was enduring the beating at the moment. He could hear the shrills of her voice as she yelled and called him all types of different names. He remembered one of his worst beatings that happened when it rained outside and all he could hear was the thunder matching his mom's yells.

That night Debora hit him so hard near his face that he heard a slight pop in his left ear, making him think he had went deaf. His left side of his face was bruised purple and the heavy soles of the hand me down Timb's she wore was too much of an impact to his small body. Some nights Tatum just wished he could rewind time and have his dad in his life but that wasn't happening no time soon so it was just him, his mom, and her handy dandy set of drugs.

You'd think that as he got older the memories would go away but they didn't.

"Can I have a glass of Merlot please?" A female's voice said two seats down from him.
