The morning came a lot faster than normal. The girls had such a long day filled with driving and seeing old friends that neither wanted the morning to come until they could rest up fully. As soon as they got back from the beach they all disappeared into their chosen bedrooms and fell asleep almost instantly. Taylor had been the only one awake enough to actually take a shower and brush her teeth before bed, probably due to her obsession with good hygiene.

After only what seemed like a few hours of sleep, Taylor woke up to her phone buzzing wildly on the brown wooden bedside table that stood next to her bed. Her room was designed to follow a palm tree theme that came from the wallpaper in the room. The furniture was all brown, wooden, and textured as if it was the trunk of a palm tree. The thick comforter that Taylor was tucked under was green and had palm leaves covering it. As her phone continued to buzz, waking her up from her sleep, she wished that the thick comforter was a shield, blocking her from the outside world and giving her another few hours of precious sleep.

Groaning, and still half asleep, Taylor reached for her phone, patting the table until her hand landed on the vibrating electronic device.

"Hello?" she answered groggily, pressing the phone to her face. She stretched slightly to wake herself up, and let out a yawn.

"Are you still asleep? It's almost ten," Aaron's voice stated through the phone. "I thought Sara had you guys up at eight in the morning to get the day started."

Taylor practically scoffed at his words. The idea of her willingly getting up before noon was hilarious. "She tried that, but Avery and I didn't respond well so now she just goes to swim in the bay as her morning exercise." She paused for a moment before saying, "Can I go back to sleep now? I'm still due for another hour or two of rest if it's only ten."

"No, get dressed. We need to talk."

"What do you expect me to say to get me out of here without having one of them follow me?" Taylor asked. The girls did everything together. There was almost no way to separate them, so how was she going to change that? "Besides, won't it be a little weird that the girl who usually sleeps until the afternoon is up at ten and ready to leave the house?"

"I don't know," he responded slowly, obviously realizing how truthful her words were. "Come up with a lie and then meet me at the boat docks at the end of 21st street."

"That's so far," Taylor whined, pulling the covers tighter around her body.

"It's like three blocks away from you! I'm going to be leaving soon. Make sure no one follows you," Aaron said just before he hung up the phone and left Taylor to force herself out of bed. She groaned as the cold morning air hit her body once the covers were removed. I have to think of a lie that will get me out of here by myself, Taylor thought as she stood up and crossed over to the drawers where she'd put all of her clothes away after she unpacked the night before. Now she stood there, rifling through them for the one answer that she knew would work.

She dawned on a pair of black Soffe shorts, a sports bra and a racer-back tank top that said, "Get Fit or Die Trying," in bold black letters across the front. After she was dressed she straightened the drawers back up and made the bed neatly before she headed into Sara's bedroom to use her en-suite bathroom. Like always, Sara's room was a total disaster zone. Taylor didn't see how it was possible for Sara's room to already be such a mess so early into their trip. They'd been there for less than 24 hours and there were already clothes cluttering the floor, the bed wasn't made, and the throw pillows from the bed had been carelessly tossed onto the floor. Taylor's head spun just from staring at the cluttered mess. She didn't understand how she and Sara could be so close and yet so different. Sara didn't mind living in mess, while Taylor was slightly OCD.
