So this oneshot is based off the spin the bottle game they were playing, but what if Gilbert was there to join the game, too?
Anne's POV
"Everyone get in a circle! We're gonna play spin the bottle," Josie Pye sneered.
I groaned internally as I saw everyone placing themselves in a circle. The last time we played this I kissed Cole on the cheek and was humiliated by Billy Andrews and Josie Pye so I was not ecstatic to play another round of this wretched game. Especially since Gilbert's back in school.
I turned around to see Gilbert sitting on his desk, laughing and talking with Moody and Charlie.
"Wanna join?" Charlie asked, motioning to the group of kids sitting in a circle. Moody nodded with glee as he took a small glance at Diana. Gilbert turned around and stared at the circle and then met eyes with me. He smiled and looked at Charlie, shrugging his shoulders.
"Why not?" he chuckled, getting up and making his way past me.
I rolled my eyes as I sat next to Cole in the boy-girl pattern, Gilbert across from me.
"I'll go first," Josie smiled as she spun the bottle. It stopped on Billy.
Josie rolled her eyes and got up as Billy raised his eyebrows at her, following her lead. Josie smacked her lips onto Billy's for a few seconds and everyone clapped. I focused my gaze down at the bottle, mortified for my turn.
Josie and Billy both sat back down, as Josie lifted her chin.
"It has to be on the lips. Like we just showed you. Ruby, you're up," she stated, as Ruby spun the bottle. It landed on Charlie. Ruby looked disappointed seeing as she wanted it to land on Gilbert. After they kissed, Josie called out the names of more people that had to take their turn until it was mine.
"It's your turn," Josie said flatly as she motioned towards me.
I cringed as I heard Billy laugh with his friends.
"It's the ugly orphan's turn!" Billy laughed.
"I'd hate to be the one to have to kiss her!" His friend chimed in.
I gulped as I spun the bottle, hoping it would land on Cole again. When it the bottle stopped spinning, I looked up and saw who it landed on. Gilbert.
Diana was trying her best not to smile, and I could see Ruby looking back and forth between us.
Billy chuckled, "You don't have to kiss her if you don't want to. We made up a rule."
Gilbert glared at Billy and turned back to face me.
"No, it's alright. I want to," Gilbert said in an angry tone.
My eyes widened as I looked up at him. We both stood up and I saw Gilbert walk towards me slowly.
"Gilbert Blythe, please sit down. You don't need to do this," I mumbled.
"Well we wouldn't want you not to have a chance to play this game, right?" he smirked.
"Just kiss the freak already!" Josie yelled.
I looked to the ground and back up at Gilbert. He met my eyes and cupped my cheek with his hands as he slowly pulled me to him. I put my hands on his chest as he deepened the kiss. Anne Shirley-Cuthburt! You're kissing Gilbert! Stop it! I was mortified with myself as I realized I was letting him kiss me. Trying to pull away, I felt a warm hand grasp mine and pull me closer towards him. I was kissing Gilbert Blythe. And I liked it?! After realizing the kiss was going on for more than a few seconds, I pulled away. Staring up into Gilbert's eyes, a horrific conclusion crossed my mind. I like Gilbert Blythe.
