Chapter 3

~ Vic's pov~ 

I walked into school with my brother and Tony. Jaime got suspended for fighting Austin. I was standing at my locker with Mike and Tony when I saw Kellin walk in with Matty. 

"Hey, I'll catch you guys later." I said. They nodded. I shut my locker. I had been thinking about the kiss since it happen. I walked over to Matty and Kellin. "Hey, Kells." I said. He turned to me.

"Hey, Vic." He said smiling.

"Hey, Matty. Can I talk to Kellin alone?" I asked. Matty nodded and walked away. "So, Kells. About the kiss..." I said trailing off.

"Yeah, what about it?" He asked.

"I've been thinking about it. And I really like you." I said.

"I really like you too." He said.

"But I can't be with you right now." I said. His smile turned into a frown.

"Why not?" he asked.

"Because I had just gotten out of that relationship with Austin. I'm not ready just yet." I said. He nodded.

"I-I understand." he said. I saw he was about to cry and hugged him. He hugged back. 

"Sorry, Kells." I said.

"Will there ever be an us?" he asked.

"Of course there will be." i said kissing his head. He smiled slightly.

"But when?" He asked. 

" I don't know, Kells." I said pulling from the hug.

"I hope it's soon." He said. I sighed.

"I can't promise anything."  I said.

"I know." He said. I looked at him.

"Don't worry okay?" I asked. He nodded. I kissed his cheek and walked to class.

~ Kellin's pov ~ 

That was just a stab to the heart. Ever since the kiss on Friday, I started falling for him. Just to be told by him that we couldn't be together, hurt. Yeah, I know the whole ordeal with Austin, but it's been a while since they've broken up. I was not risking on staying and seeing Vic throughout the day. I walked to the bathroom and locked myself into a stall the rest of the day. I held my legs to my chest. I heard a knock on the stall door after a while.

"Kells, open up." I heard Matty say. I opened the door. He came in and sat across from me. "Why have you been hiding in here all day?" He asked.

"It's nothing." i said.

"Does it have to do with Vic? I saw you guys all cuddly this morning." he said.

"Yeah, it does." I said. 

"What happened?" He asked.

"Well, we kissed on Friday and then he said we can't be together because he's still hung up on Austin." I said and sniffled. 

"Look, Kellin. Austin and Vic had been together for 3 years and then cheated on him with Taylor, the girl you were talking to the other day. They were pretty serious. He's scared you're going to hurt him, that's why." He said.

"Oh." Was all I could manage to get out.

"Come on, Kells. I'll drive you home." He said. I nodded and followed him out into the hall. 

"I'll meet you at your car. I need to get some things." I said. He nodded. I walked to my locker and saw Vic standing there. Vic looked up. 

"Hey, Kells. Tony told me you weren't in any classes." He said. "Why's that?" He asked.

"No reason." I said opening my locker.

"If it's because of me, I'm sorry." He said. 

"Vic, I heard about the relationship with you and Austin. I understand why you can't be with me, but have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe i'm different than Austin. You can't give people a chance can you?" I asked. He sighed.

"I understand where you're coming from, but you need to understand where I'm coming from though." He said.

"Yeah, I understand where you're coming from, but it's been a year, Vic." I said. He sighed.

"Just give me some time to think, Kells." He said grabbing my free hand. I sighed and nodded.

"Fine, I'm giving you till this Friday." I said. 

"Okay, fair enough." He said. I took my hand away. 

"I have to go, Matty's waiting for me." I said. He nodded. 

"Okay." He said. I kissed his cheek and walked out and walked over to Matty. We got iin. 

"Hey, drop me off at the mall. I have to apply for a job." I said.

"Alright." He said. He drove off to the mall.

"Thank you." I said to Matty.

"No problem." He said. I got out and walked inside. I started walking around to see if anyone was hiring. 

"Hey!" I heard a voice say. I turned around and saw a few guys that were bigger than me come towards me. A tall one pushed me up to the wall and held me by my neck. "You need to leave Vic alone." He hissed. Oh shit this is Austin,  It was starting to get hard to breathe. 

"L-let me go." I was able to breathe out. He dropped me and him and his friends started beating me up. They finally stopped and all I could see was black. 

"Kellin!" I heard a voice say before I fully blacked out.
