Chapter 13

~ Vic's pov~

I've tried calling and texting him the past two days, but no answer. I was getting worried. I heard he started working at the record shop, maybe I can drop by there while he's working. Just maybe. I sat in the last class of the day bored off my ass. I got a text from Mike.

Mike: dude, kells been AWOL. What happened to him??

Vic: honestly? I dunno.

Mike: are you sure he hasn't done something stupid?

Vic: I'm sure. He's been going to work.

Mike: how do you know that?

Vic: I have eyes and ears.

I locked my phone and got up right when the bell rang. I walked out and started to walk out to my car. Taylor had other plans for me though.

"Vic, have you spoken to him?" She asked.

"No, he won't answer or return my calls or texts." I said. She sighed.

"I think it's my fault." She said.

"No, it's not." I said. "It's mine. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a boyfriend to talk to." I said and walked out of school ignoring all my friends. Right now my mission is to talk to Kellin. I got in my car and started it. I drove off to the mall.

~ Kellin's pov ~

I started stocking CDs on the shelves when I heard the door open. I stood up and saw Vic. How'd he know where I was working? I sighed and walked behind the counter and started sorting through the pay stubs.

"Kellin!" I heard him say. I looked up and saw him walking over. Here we go.

"Whatcha need? I'm working." I said.

"I just wanted to know why you haven't been answering or anything to any of my calls or texts and why you haven't been in school." He said. I sighed.

"I haven't been wanting to talk to anyone lately. Okay? And I haven't been in school because I was sick." I said. He sighed.

"Can we at least talk about what I needed to say?" He asked. I sighed.

"My boss doesn't get here for another few minutes, today is slow. So talk." I said.

"Look, Taylor only came over to apologize. Okay? Nothing else happened." He said.

"And how do I know you're not lying about that?" I asked.

"Because I'm not lying!" He said. I sighed.

"Look I gotta get back to work." I said.

"Kells, please don't isolate me." He said.

"I've had a lot going on okay? My mom and Jason have been arguing for the past few days and I'm tired of it! But if I try to say something they tell me to stay out of it!" I said. He sighed.

"S-sorry. I guess I'll see you tomorrow at school." He said. I sighed.

"Why don't you just hang around the mall till my shift ends?" I asked.

"Alright." He said. I pecked his lips and watched him leave. I saw Craig walk in.

"Owens, this job is great." I said.

"I'm glad you like it." He said smiling. "Look I have a proposition for you, more like a favor." He said.

"Whatcha need?" I asked.

"There's this girl I've been dating, Jenna mcdougall, and I'm kinda not feeling it anymore with her. But I don't have the heart to break up with her." He said.

"Well why don't you just like let her down gently?" I asked.

"Because, I'm not the kind of person to break up with someone. It's always the other way around." He said.

"Then do something that'll make her break up with you." I said. He sighed.

"Look, I just need you to tell her that I can't see her anymore because of my parents." He said. I sighed.

"Fine." I said.

"Thanks, man." He said.

"No problem." I said.

"Are you gonna be at school tomorrow?" He asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Alright, cool. See you tomorrow." He said before leaving. I sighed. This day can't get any better can it.

I was putting up the last CDs from the box when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked to see Austin.

"Oh, hey, Austin." I said and stood up grabbing the box.

"Hey, listen. I wanna get something for Alan. But I don't know what to get him." He said.

"Just find something you know he might love." I said. "Like something he's always wanted but couldn't get." I said. He nodded.

"Thanks, man." He said.

"No problem." I said. He smiled and left.

"Well, Kellin. Your shift is over." Jake said. I put the box behind the counter.

"Alright." I said. I went and clocked out. "See you tomorrow." I said.

"See you." He said. I grabbed my phone and walked out. I saw a text from Vic.

Vic: I'll be at guitar world.

I locked my phone and started walking around. I found guitar world and walked in. Vic was chilling with Tony and Jaime.

"Hey, I'm all done with work." I said. Vic turned around and smiled.

"See you guys tomorrow." He said. Vic and I walked out. "Want me to drive you home?" He asked.

"I want to be anywhere but there." I said sighing. "But sadly I gotta go there." I said. He sighed.

"How bad are things?" He asked.

"Pretty bad." I said. He sighed.

"How about you crash at my place over the weekend?" He asked.

"Sure." I said. He smiled. We got in his car.

"Are you feeling better?" He asked.

"Yeah, loads better." I said.

"That's good." He said and started the car.

After the ride I got out and went to the drivers side.

"I'll see you at school." I said pecking his lips. I walked inside and heard them yelling at each other. I shut the door and walked upstairs. I took a shower and changed. I laid in bed and just listened to them argue. I guess this is my life now. I closed my eyes an fell asleep.
