Chapter 1: New Start

Jade's POV

It's been a year and a half since I heard about 5SOS but I knew they had a new single called 'Want You Back' which I would never had the time to listen to. They're next album is coming soon too. I think I'm doing great so far. I became a photographer.

I've been living with my Dad in Canada since Cal and I broke up. Nicole and Michael are still together and Nicole is still staying in New York. I've never heard of Ash and Rica. Nicole and I would still talk always. I've been loving here so far. My dad is always cooking good food for me. I miss Max... geez I only had that dog for a few months and now he is owned by someone else.

Here I am editing photos that I took from Rio. I just got home yesterday from Rio and I've been so tired so I had to sleep before editing. I need to submit this tomorrow or maybe the next day.

My phone rang and it was Nicole.

Jade: hey, Nicole. What's up?

Nicole: hey, Jade. I'm in London with 5SOS 'cause Mike asked me if I could join them just this time. Do you want to come?

Jade: You know I can't do that. And also I have a lot of work to do.

Nicole: aww ... I miss you so much, Jade.

Jade: We just went to Rio last week. Hahaha.

Nicole: but still, I don't get to see you everyday anymore.

Jade: just wait a little longer and we will. Soon.

Nicole: of course!

Jade: ok then. I need to hang up. I need these photos to be submitted.

Nicole: ok bye, take care :) love lots.

Jade: yeah you too. :)

I said as we both hang up. I was editing and my dad placed 2 slices of cheese cake and a glass of milk beside me. "Don't work too hard, Jade." He says smiling. "Thanks, Dad." I said as he patted my head and I immediately tried one of his premium cheese cakes. And they were honestly the best.

I was working and it was now 2:30am. My neck hurts and I only finished half. I need to sleep. I'll continue this tomorrow.

I saved my work and closed my laptop and went up to my room. I did my skincare routine, drank 3 glasses of water and sleep immediately. I was exhausted.

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing and it was my co-photographer, Julian. "Hello?" I answered in a sleepy tone. "Jade, they need you here now. Fix yourself because you need to get here now." He says panicking. "Woah, I didn't finish my works yet." I said as I felt nervous. They might kill me. "Just get here as fast as you can." He hung up and I started to rush. I did my usual routine but in a quicker way. I ran to the shower and used my favourite apple scented shampoo and my powder scented shower gel. I cleansed my face and did my skincare routine. I changed into some ripped denim jeans, black sando which I tacked into my jeans and worr a black belt. I slipped into my adidas superstar in color white and black stripes. The bottom was thicker which helped me get a little taller. I just brushed my hair and not bothered to blow dry it. I applied a little foundation, did my natural brow and applied my peach colored matte lipstick. I took my things needed for work and started to ran down the stairs. It was now 10:00am. My accesories? I was using my other ones since I kept the ones that Calum gave me.

"Breakfast, Jade." My dad says and I just took one of his sandwich. "I gotta go, dad." I said as I waved him goodbye and rushed to the office. I was there in 20 mins and I was so nervous right now because I didn'r finish my work. "Finally, you made it. Follow me." Julian says and put my ID on. I followed him and he took me to the conference room.

"I'm terribly sorry, Sir but I'm afraid I didn't finish my work on time. I just thought that the deadline would be tomo-" my sentence was cut off.

"You're done with that job. Someone else is going to be taking your Job." My boss says and my eyes widened. I can't believe that I'm getting fired. "The file?" He says holding his hand out as I gave him the USB. He hands it to another employee who I suppose is taking my job. I bowed my head as I was about to walk away when they called for me. "You're not fired, darling. You're being promoted." My boss says and my eyes widened. "I am?" I asked for reassurance. And they nodded.

"You girl are going to London. Your job will be a photographer but this time, you'll be working on different studios. You're papers have been submitted and they will all call you whenever they needed you to capture pictures of celebrities, models and you can even be a photographer in red carpets but of course you won't just stay in London. You available worldwide. We already made you official accounts oj every website sk they can contact you directly. Julian will help you with that." He says and gave me my liscence. "Congratulations." He says which made me smile uncontrolably. "Thank you so much." I said as I shook everyone's hands. "I mean I wouldn't take picture pf naked people, right?" I asked curiously and the laughed it off. "You are protected by our company, darling." They said and I just can't believe what's happening right now.

As soon as Julian and I went put of the office, I hugged him really tight. He was one of my best pals in the work place. "I can't believe it, Julian." I said as I pulled away and kissed my liscence. "Then, why won't we celebrate? My treat." He says so we went to McDonald's to have lunch and after that we went shopping. It was nice spending time with him. He's like Nicole in some sort of way.

After our little celebration we went to our house. He discussed me about my accounts and the sites that I should be aware of... "Oh so, that's how it works. Now I get it." I said to him. My dad's still not home. "Are you sure that you're getting it? I've explained to you for like 4 times already." He says smiling. "No! I totally get it now, thanks. I'm a little stupid 'cause this is quite new to me. So when's my flight?" I asked him while he was resting his face ok his palm. "Next week, Monday afternoon. I think you're first shoot are celebrities." He says yawning.

"Oh ok." I said as I took my glasses of which were protecting my eyes from the light of the computer. I can feel Julian staring at me. "You're beautiful." He says to me which made me look at him. He tucked my hair behind my ears. I felt uncomfortable for some reason. He's my friend ... He just stared at me but I was feeling awkward. "Do you want me to drive you to the airport on Monday?" He asked but I just nodded and smiled. "Ok then." He says smiling in a charming way and again I wasn't comfortable.
