(Luke POV)
“Fuck, she’s coming!”
“Just put the key card in!”
“It’s not working!”
“Shit, no – wait, it’s green! Push it!”
I walked out of my bedroom to see Michael and Calum running in, leaning against the door and letting out giant sighs of relief as it slammed shut behind them. “What are you guys doing?” I asked, trying not to laugh as they jumped in surprise at the sound of my voice. They were panting heavily, fear clear in their eyes as Mikki thumped on the other side of the door.
“I’m going to kill you both! Let me in before I knock this door down myself!”
Michael and Calum squealed at the sound of Mikki’s angry voice, running into the living room and hiding behind the sofa. Despite their pleading faces, I made my way over to open the door for her, wanting to see the two of them punished for whatever they’d done to piss her off. I’d been at the receiving end of her temper way more times than these two could even imagine, it would be funny to watch her scream at somebody else for a change.
Mikki charged past me, her dripping wet hair flicking me as she did so, making her way over to the sofa. She bent down, grabbing both Michael and Calum by an ear and forcing them to their feet. “You are absolute idiots!” she screamed, shaking them and ignoring their wails of pain. “Inconsiderate, irritating, immature idiots! How can you just think it’s okay to burst into my hotel room like that?”
As Michael fell to his knees, groaning in pain, I actually felt a bit sorry for them, and made my way over, wrapping my arms around Mikki’s torso and pulling her away from our two friends. Michael stood up to his full height, rubbing his sore ear, and Calum gave me a thankful look. “Mik, babe, calm down. What’s happened?”
I felt her body relax instantly in my arms; it had been five days since we’d almost kissed in the bathroom, and we’d been pretty much glued at the hip since. We still bickered every now and again, but she’d come and slept in my room, claiming she needed to distance herself from Ashton so he could see that what he’d done was wrong.
After days of apologies and awkwardness, she’d finally forgiven Ashton yesterday, even giving him advice about asking Gemma out at some point today. She’d slept in his room last night, but oddly enough, I wasn’t jealous anymore.
After our talk in the bathroom, I knew there wouldn’t be anything more than friendship with those two ever again, Mikki had been firm about that. It didn’t mean that something would happen between us though, especially considering the fact that the next morning I’d remembered that she still had a boyfriend back home, but I knew by the look she’d given me that my feelings may not be entirely one-sided.
“Um,” Michael said nervously, running a hand through his dark hair as Mikki glared at him. “Calum and me went down to reception and got a key to Mikki’s room because we thought it would be funny to burst in there, scare her and upload her reaction to Keek. You remember when we used to do a weekly prank on Mikki and post it? The fans loved it, and we thought it would be good to do one on our last day off before tour prep starts again.”
“So why does she want to kill you?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at the sheepish looks on their faces. “Mikki wouldn’t wanna kill you over a harmless prank.” “Well, we walked in and she’d just had a shower… so she was naked,” Calum said anxiously, holding his hands up as I narrowed my eyes too. “Look, we didn’t know she was going to be naked, did we? How were we supposed to know?”
