"What the fuck y'all two were thinking not telling me about that fool?" my dad yelled at us.

Somebody tried to kill all of us by blowing up the reception center. We knew that Trig had something to with it. He was salty because my dad set him up.

"Daddy, we didnt want you worrying on your wedding night." I said.

"Nah, you didn't want him worrying on his wedding night," Clayton said pointing at me.

Ws were sitting at our house with everybody else. We rushed home after the building exploded.

"Let me hear the voicemail again," my dad said as Clayton played it back for the hundredth time.

"Nigga you think I don't know your fake ass daddy set me up? I ain't threw with y'all yet believe that podnuh. I got sources on the outside and its gonna be like I never left. Bitch ass niggas better watch y'all self. I'm an angry motherfucker right now. Get ready to say night night lil bitches."

"One, two, three, four, five," my dad said pointing at me, Clayton, Daphne, Darius, and Deniece. "Pack yall shit. Im calling Yvette and getting yall plane tickets New Orleans."

"Daddy I can't leave!" I pleaded. "We starting school in like two more weeks."

"Chris we cant make no rush moves like this. We gotta think about it," Deniece said.

"The only thing I'm thinking about is the safety of my wife and children. No buts, get up and pack right now. Im gonna stay here and handle this."

"If I leave I gotta give up my scholarship." Darius said. "Aint no way I can do that."

My mom rushed through the door holding Lailah. Clayton's mom was already there pacing back and forth.

"Chanel are you okay," she said holding me in her arms.

"Yea momma I'm fine," I said.

She went up to my daddy and slapped him across the face leaving marks. "You put my only child in a situation where her life was threatened. You promised me that nothing like this would ever happen Chris. I believed you."

"I understand where you coming from Tonya," Deniece came in. "Trust me that I do. But please dont put your hand on my husband."

My mom rolled her eyes ready to say something but didnt knowing she was a lil out of line. "Lets go Chanel, you spending a couple days with me."

"We're leaving tonight Tonya. They are not safe here," my dad told her.

"You think I give a damn about what you think? My child is coming home with her mother."

"I'm not about to let that happen Tonya. I'm sorry but that's how it's about to be."

Pam, Clayton momma, came up. "I knew in the back of my mind I shoulda never let Clayton meet you. Look where my boy is right now."

"Preach Pam," my mother said.

"I gave my children a life that neither of yall could have ever given them. Don't come here and say that I'm a bad father cause I know I'm not. I love both of my children and I love those two like they my own. Now don't come in her saying that y'all regret letting me in they life cause at the end of the day y'all knew what y'all was getting into when y'all wanted me." dad flashed.

"We over 18 so let us make our own decision," Clayton said. "Daphne if your momma want you to go you gotta go but as for us, we grown so what move y'all gonna make?" he said looking at me and Darius.

"I need my scholarship," Darius said.

"I can't leave daddy. Everything is here," I said.

We sat there in silence.
