Jessamine's P.O.V.

I frantically look around the room for an empty seat, but they are all taken. I turn back to the front, heart beating too fast.

'Shit.'
__________

I'm trying my best to ignore him. All throughout class I hear snickers and whispers as he talks to his friends, who horrifyingly surround me. I'm solving the problems from the board, narrowing my focus solely on work, when hot breath stings my ear and my breathing shallows.

"How about we go and find an empty classroom later? I'm sure we'll have some fun." He says.

I understand his meaning and it makes me sick, stomach and legs clenching.

I thought I'm the fat bitch, I want to sneer. But I remember who I'm talking to, and shut my mouth.

"I'm sure you can find another empty person to have fun with." I don't say what's on my mind, but my voice doesn't waver.

'You can do this. You can stand up to him.' my wolf breathes.

Tristan doesn't like my answer and let's out a low snarl, turning heads in our direction. Mr. Candy glances up from his papers, narrowing his eyes at Tristan in warning.

Mr. Candy goes back to his work.

"Go fuck yourself Tristan." I pretty much whisper, afraid of what might happen, but hoping that my words are audible enough for him to hear.

"You'll regret that, fat bitch." Tristan doesn't say it quietly enough and Mr. Candy abruptly stands up from his desk.

I duck my head, tears springing to my eyes at the recurring sentence. My hands fist in my lap and I focus on the indents my fingernails make in my palms.

"You will not use that language in my classroom. Detention. Now."

Tristan huffs, but gathers his things, storming out of the room. The class murmurs, giving me small glances that I try to ignore.

"Alright class, no need to make a fuss. Drama's over, get back to work." His voice is strict, but a few students just talk quieter and he sighs, sitting back at his desk.

When the bell rings, I have finished the in class problems and the homework assigned. I'm practically running to be first out the door.

Arriving at my next class out of breath, Lily sees me and squeals. We run to each other and hug tightly.

"You have no idea what just happened, Jessa! Oh my gosh." I notice her cheeks are pink.

'She's blushing! It's about a boy, I bet.' My wolf says with a smirk.

"I also have something to tell you, but you go first." I reply. Lily starts talking without question.

"Well, I was in Communications, right? Okay, so I'm sitting there and the person behind me taps my shoulder. I turn around and it's a new kid. A hot new kid." She grins, attracting the attention of a few boys, "He asks me if he can borrow a pencil and I graciously give him one. Then after class, he asked me for my number!" She squeals again, her smile the widest I've seen in a while, and I laugh.

'You were right.' I tell my wolf.

'You know I always am.' She says it in such a proud way, I roll my eyes and return attention to Lily.

"So, did you give it to him?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Of course! Who do you think I am? You?" We both laugh, but it stings a little. She lightly slaps my arm.
