Violet's mother had always reminded her how smart she was, and Violet had never really believed her. Until now.

Violet found math really easily, and caught up quickly in one period. She had been seated next to a girl name Michelle Jones who spent the whole class sketching.

When the bell rang, signaling the end of class, Violet packed up her things. She held her math textbook and pencil in her arms and walked over to Peter's desk.

"We can walk to gym together- I-I mean if you want," Peter stuttered, picking up the rest of his things.

"Sure Parker," Violet smiled slightly and they walked out of the classroom.

They went to their respective lockers and put away their books. After that, Peter led the way to the gym.

"So do you live here in Queens?" Peter asked, breaking the silence.

Violet thought up a lie and replied,"Yeah my mom and I just got an apartment nearby,"

Violet had always been a smooth liar, it was required if you wanted to be a convincing agent.

"Oh! I almost forgot, here's my phone number," He handed her a slip of paper with two phone numbers on it.

"The other one is Ned's," he said.

Violet nodded and typed the numbers into her phone as they walked.

"Thanks Pete," she said, putting her phone away.

They arrived at the locker rooms and parted ways to get changed. Once Violet finished she headed out of the locker room and into the gym.

She spotted Ned and Peter sitting in the bleachers, so she went to sit next to them.

"Hey guys," she gave a small wave.

The coach walked in right then and tweaked his whistle, getting everyone's attention.

"Today we are doing laps so, pair up," he said loudly.

Ned and Peter paired up so that left Violet to search for a partner. A girl that was a whole head taller walked up to her. She was stunning, with her wavy brown hair and clear skin.

"Hey you're the new girl right? I'm Liz Allen," she said, tucking her hair behind her ears.

"I'm Violet Romanoff," Violet said, shaking the girl's hand. There had been a whole lot of hand shaking today.

"Want to be partners?" Liz asked.

"Sure," Violet replied.

Liz ran off to grab a stop watch and Violet spotted Peter gazing at her with a dreamy look in his eyes. Violet felt a spark inside her. What was that emotion? It was foreign to Violet.

She just shrugged it off and ran over to Liz.

"I got the stop watch the track is outside though," she said, smiling.

The two girls walked outside and Violet spotted the dull red track. Some people were timing their teammates they ran.

"Basically you run five laps in under fifteen minutes,"Liz explained once they reached the track.

"Okay, do you want to go first?" Violet asked.

"Sure," Liz shrugged and handed Violet the timer.

Liz started jogging around the track, and Violet started the timer. Violet hadn't blamed Peter for staring at her, she was perfect. A little too perfect.

Violet looked around and spotted Peter, stopwatch in hand. She ran up to him and smiled.

"Hey Pete, you timing Ned?" She asked, and saw Ned slowly jogging around the track.
