Forever Alone

First Day

I wake up and start to get ready. I put on a black pencil skirt with a nice blouse for my first day at Collins Inc. Hopefully I'll be able to do everything that they want me to do. And I also hope that the CEO of the company is a nice man and not one of those assholes types. I go into the bathroom and apply a little bit of make up and do a nice high bun. I put on hairspray and spray some of the body spray we have in the bathroom. I get out and walk towards my room when Esme's door opens. "Good morning" "Hi" Esme is always grumpy in the morning, so I'll wait to talk to her after she does getting ready. I go back into my room and clean a little then head downstairs to get some oatmeal before I leave. 

I'm sitting down eating my oatmeal on the table, then I see Esme coming down the stairs. She dressed up a little more than she usally does which means things must be going well with her and Mikael. Thinking of that she hasn't told me anything about what happened. "Hey Esme, you never told me what happen that day we saw the guys from the club. All I know is that he's your partner for a project." She sighs and smiles, "Well he asked me a lot of questions while we were outside "studying" and he also told me a little bit about himself." "Oh what did he tell you about himself?" "Well the guys from the club, they are adopted brothers, he has a job lined up for him already but he just needs a little bit of college experience etc. And i also found out that he is a great listener." I look at her confused,"What really?" She sits and is eating a orange,"He really listens to me, like he was staring at me with intense eyes and he seemed...interested." "And is that a good thing?" Esme laughs," Of course silly!" I laugh, duh,"Well then whats going to happen?" She frowns now," I don't know Gabby. I think I'm falling for him and I hardly know the guy. It's only a matter of time before everything just crumbles.." Oh Esme, she's so sweet and fragile that she just closes herself off. "I'm sure everything will be fine Esme. And if not then we'll get through it together." "Thanks Gabby!!" I smile at her and we both look at the clock. Shit. Time to get out of here. Esme gives me the car keys and she runs out the door to catch the bus. 

I get into the car and drive toward Collins Inc., which is about 20 mins away from Esme's house. Not to far but with traffic hopefully i get there in time. Can't be late on my first day. I arrive with ten minutes until I start but I head in so I can start early. I walk into the big building and this lady comes up to me. She greets me with a smile and I smile back, "Hello. Ms. Castillo? It's Livia. I called you about the job." So this is Livia. "Hello nice to meet you. And thank you again for giving me this oppurtunity." We both start walking down the lobby and into an elevator. "I'm sure that you will love it here at Collins Inc Ms. Castillo. I'll just go over some basics and where things are so that you can get started." The elevator stops and we both get out. We walk down a large hallway and we walk into the conference room, and she says"This is the conference room. Obviously. But here is where all the business goes down and up. You will be coming in here with the CEO and assisting him. But before the conference starts, you must come in here ten minutes prior and then set folders on the tables, if required. Then you wait until the CEO is ready." I nod and make note of what she told me and we move on out of the conference room and head over to a double door room. "This is the CEO's office and over here," she points to a desk just outside of the office doors, "is where you will be working at. Sorry I didn't get to show you around more but you'll be starting soon." I smile and thank her, then take my seat and organize the things that were left on my desk. 

I've been sitting here for the last two hours, on my phone doing nothing. The CEO is late and is apparently coming after lunch time, which is, in two hours. I've been on my phone most of the time but then I went to the ladies room and then to the vending machine because i was starting to get a little hungry. I'm sitting listening to the lame music they are playing lightly above and then hear a lot of chatter coming from down the hall. "Mr. Curtis!! We have the meeting schedule at 12:30." and another voice saying,"Mr. Curtis we are going to have to reschedule the flight to new york, seems that Haledale Company is going to be under construction that weekend." I finally get a good look at Mr. Curtis and see this light brown, tall, semi pale man walking down the hall way.  Woah. He's good looking, not as beautiful as Mr. Dalton. *sigh* I wonder why he didn't give me the job.. 

Mr. Curtis approaches my desk and gives me a folder then tells me,"Go into my office in about five minutes after I go in." "Yes sir." He looks at me then walks into his office. I wait seven minutes exactly then walk into his office. He's sitting at his desk on the phone. "Well yes we will have to reschedule the flight and the meetings this week because Haledale is going to be missing out" he pauses then motions me over to take a seat. "Call me asap so we can settle this." He hangs up and looks up at me. "I'm so sorry Ms. Castillo, I've had a lot on my hand than usual." "Oh no it's okay Mr. Curtis."I smile and he smiles back then he gets up and walks over toward a cabinet. He takes out three folders, then walks toward the desk but sits on the desk towards my side, and hands me the folders. "These are all the names and information, numbers, etc for the meeting next week. I'll need you to be briefed on what is going on just incase you'll have to intervene." I look up at him,"Yes of course Mr. Curtis. Anything else you need me to do?" He walks over then takes a seat on his chair,"No ma'am. I just need you to study that then come back ready. You can go home now actually. I haven't much things to get organize by next week, so say come back friday, then we can discuss things here and get your desk organized." I get up and fix my skirt a bit. "Well you don't want me to stay here today?" "No Ms. Castillo you are free to go." I smile then walk out and get my stuff ready. It's a little after 1 and I get out the building and set for home when I get a call. 

"Hello?" I answer.  "Hello ma'am. Is this Ms. Castillo?" I couldn't figure out who this was and i didn't recognize the phone number, "Umm yes this is she. May I ask who's calling?" "Oh sorry ma'am this is assistant to Mr. Dalton, you had an interview a couple of days ago." My mouth drops and I gasp," Yes! I did have an interview with Mr. Dalton. How can I help you?" "We were wondering if you still are considering a job here ma'am." "Oh. I'm sorry but I have already accepted a job already, but thank you for your time and Mr. Dalton's time." I hear a gasp,"Oh well then. Thank you for your time Ms. Castillo. Have a nice day." In the back ground I hear a grunt, then she hangs up. Well that was a little too late. But atleast now I know that I would have gotten the job. But I also wish that they would have called me earlier.. 

I'm heading home and stop by the store and grab a couple of things to munch on when I get home, because I know i'm going to need it. I grab my favorite ice cream mint chocolate chip and grab an Arizona tea, then go to pay. As I'm walking to the car i get a text from Esme:

*Hey where u at?*

*I'm just leaving the store. Whats up?*

*Well I'm not feeling so good so can you come pick me up?*

*Sure ill be there in 10 mins*
