First Day (cont.)

*Esme*

I got to school just in time before the class started. I headed up to my seat to get ready for class to start. Our proffesor walks in and he has his laptop so usually means that we will be having a lecture. He sets up his laptop then makes his usual anouncements, "Alright class remember that this week we will be doing our first part of your project, just to see the progress and how it is coming along. But for now I need you to all sit by your partners, and write down notes that you think will be useful for your project. I will be doing a review on all the chapters we've been working on so you can write down the notes to which you will be doing your project on." *sigh* I get out my notebook and purple pen. I look up and see Mikael walking up the stairs to get to my seat. He takes a seat to my right then starts to take out his notebook, pencil and highlighter. Then he says,"How you been?" I look up at him then sigh,"I'm ok. I just don't feel so good. The kids at my work have been getting sick lately so that could be it." "Oh damn, that sucks! You should probably take some advil or something." I give him a small smile then start to write notes on the lecture. 

I hear him sighas if he was frustrated, then he whispers, "Do you think we could go to the movies some time?" I hesitate to look at him, when i finally do he looks like he's just done the hardest thing to do in life. I smile, a real big smile this time and tell him, "Sure! That would be great. Umm when did you want to go?" He smiles a triumph smile then says,"I was thinking maybe this Friday? Around 8? I can pick you up if you want." "Sure that would be great! I'm letting my cousin use my car for work so, that would be great if you could pick me up." I blush a little, "Yeah Esme, no problem. I'll be at your house at 8 then." I smile then continue to write notes.

I leave class and wave good bye to Mikael since I have to leave to work. I get to work around 11:30 and check in then start my day. I let the kids have a free day today because I am just not feeling it. I didn't eat much at lunch, so i text Gabby around 1ish to see if she could pick me up. I'm getting my things ready and wave good bye to my co workers who have taken over my class. I hope I feel a lot better for friday, I really don't want to miss going out with Mikael to the movies. I get to my usual spot and wait for Gabby, who comes just in time. I get into the car and we drive home without saying a word. She knows I feel awful so she doesn't push me to tell her what happened today. 

We get home and as usual my parents aren't home. I get into the house and walk up the stairs, then stop when Gabby asks,"Hey esme, do you want me to make you some soup?" "Sure thank you. I'll eat it later right now I just want to go lie down for a bit." She walks away and I continue to walk up the stairs. I go into the bathroom, wash my face and go into my room then plop down on the bed. I slowly drift into a peaceful sleep. 

*2 hours later*

*Hey esme?" Gabby comes into my room and sets a glass of water on my drawer. "How do you feel?" I sit up then take a sip of water, "I feel like shit honestly. And i feel a little warm. Can you go get the thermometer please?" "Oh yeah sure!" Gabby walks out and I get up and quickly change into some comfy pjs, when she walks back in with the thermometer. I take it and put it in my mouth and wait until it beeped. When it finally beeped, I had a temperature of 102.7, just great. I call work and tell them that I will be out for tomorrow and hopefully by thursday I'll be feeling better to go to school and work, then later friday to the movies. Gabby brings me more water and some advils, reminder by Mikael when he told me in class to take some, and then Gabby sits on my bed and we watch sixteen candles together.

"So did anything happen in school today?" I give a little laugh and blush,"Well he asked me out on a date this friday to the movies. So i hope that I'll be feeling better." "NO WAY! Way to go! That's awesome Esme! I'm so happy for you." I grin and laugh, "How was your first day at work?" Gabby's face lit up and she giggles, "Well Mr. CEO is pretty good looking, and young to be a CEO. He basically told me to leave early and come back to work Friday, so I'll be working late Friday. And then he just gave me folders of information to study up on, like the names of people, numbers, all those type of stuff. Then you will never believe who called me!" "Who?!" "The assistant for Mr. Dalton! She called me and asked me that if I was still looking to work for them! Then I told her that I had already accepted a job at Collins Inc." I gasp,"No way! Damn if only they called earlier! You would have been working with Mr. Hottie." She laughs and then says, "Well what has me worked up is that before she hung up i heard like a grunt in the back ground, it sounded like she was on speaker phone." "Do you think that could have been Mr. Dalton?" She rolls her eyes and gets up, "I think it could have been. Dont know why he would be so dissappointed, he was the one who said he shouldnt give me the job because of lack in work experience." "Well maybe he's giving you a chance Gabby." She walks over to the door, and looks back at me,"Well I'm not going back." 

I lay back down and start to think about my situation and Gabby's. I know I'm falling for Mikael and I think Gabby is starting to really like Mr. Dalton, thats why she's a bit off about it. I turn off the tv and the lights and go to sleep, thinking of those wonderful hazel eyes and dimple of lovely Mikael.
